About the Role
We are conducting a confidential search for a Director of Development to lead renewable energy project development efforts in Colorado. This is a high-impact role where you’ll have full ownership of the Colorado market, managing the development of multiple solar projects from origination through completion.

Key Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of the Colorado market and manage the entire project lifecycle, from site identification to interconnection and commercial operation.
- Develop and execute strategies for project origination, permitting, interconnection, and regulatory compliance.
- Lead strategic participation in Colorado’s Flexible Interconnection Program, collaborating closely with regulatory experts and industry associations.
- Manage and mentor a growing team, starting with one direct report, while also overseeing junior developers and external consultants.
- Build relationships with utilities, permitting agencies, landowners, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project development.
- Analyze risks, troubleshoot novel challenges, and provide well-prepared recommendations to leadership on market strategy and project prioritization.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Experience: 6+ years of renewable energy project development experience, ideally within community solar or distributed energy.
- Colorado Expertise: Deep understanding of Colorado’s regulatory environment, interconnection processes, and development landscape.
- Leadership: Proven ability to manage internal teams, junior developers, and external vendors while maintaining high-quality execution.
- Strategic Mindset: Capable of shaping market participation strategies and optimizing project pipelines across multiple stages.
