Freight and Off-Road, Intern, Beijing

The ICCT is looking for an intern to join our office in Beijing, working to support the green freight and clean off-road projects. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in the nonprofit sector and the decarbonization business.
You Will:
- Contribute to research projects that analyze and communicate the status of green freight, green supply chain, intermodal transportation development in China, and advanced markets.
- Support or conduct technical studies for clean off-road machinery technologies, markets, electrifications, etc.
- Support conducting statistical analysis under the guidance of ICCT's research staff.
- Support report communication and outreach material drafting.
- Deliver ad-hoc tasks as needed.
You Have:
- Senior undergraduate or graduate student. Preferable major in Transportation, Environmental Science & Engineering, Automotive, Policy, or Computer Science.
- Excellent and demonstrated quantitative, analytical, and research skills. Experienced in working with Microsoft Office.
- Data analysis and visualization skills with advanced Excel, Python/R/Matlab/Tableau, or other statistical and database tools, and an interest in learning new software tools.
- Proficiency in spoken and written Mandarin Chinese, with strong abilities in spoken and written English.
- Ideally, experience or knowledge in transportation policies, vehicle emissions, automotive technologies, or big data analysis.
- Good understanding of climate change and transportation is preferred.
- Enthusiasm for working with researchers and international colleagues.
- Capability to work at least 3 days per week, with on-site work at least 1 day per week. The internship will last at least 6 months.
Our Benefits
The internship contract will have a duration of 6 months, with potential extension to 12 months. You will work in our Beijing office and be guided by our experienced researchers. ICCT will provide a laptop and other office equipment as needed. We offer a salary of CNY ¥3,200 a month (96 hours a month), or an amount proportional to the workload allowed by your university.
