Job Title: Project Manager Position Type: 6 Months Contract (Potential Extension)
Salary Range: $80/hr - $82/hr (USD) on W2 + Benefits + (Per diem available at GSA rates) + $500 mobilization/demobilization on the time at beginning and end of the assignment
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and oversee a portfolio of capital projects across multiple utility-scale solar sites. The ideal candidate will have direct experience in utility solar project management and proven expertise in managing large-scale power generation projects, including equipment such as turbines, generators, pumps, motors, control systems, and other balance-of-plant systems.
The Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient execution of projects from development through commissioning and transition to operations. This position requires a highly motivated professional with the ability to work independently, communicate effectively, and qualify for field work, including confined space entry, ladder/stair climbing, and respirator use.
Lead the safe execution of all projects, ensuring safety and environmental compliance is the top priority.
Manage or support phases of major capital projects, including:
Project and site development
Permitting (air, water, state, and local)
Scope development and contract negotiations (equipment, engineering, EPC, etc.)
Commissioning and transition to operations
Oversee all phases of smaller improvement projects, from permitting to commissioning.
Develop and manage overall project budgets and schedules for both major and smaller projects.
Monitor project costs, financial spend plans, and forecasts, making strategic decisions to meet financial goals.
Manage contracts and commercial aspects with suppliers and contractors.
Apply the Project Management Tollgate process to guide projects through each stage.
Handle all project-related administrative requirements in compliance with PM standards.
7+ years of experience in construction, engineering, or project management; minimum of 3 years in a dedicated project management role.
~ Demonstrated knowledge in project management methodologies, technologies, and leadership.
~ Strong understanding of power generation and pollution control equipment.
~ General knowledge of construction practices, equipment utilization, and work scheduling.
~ Strong leadership and team-building skills, with a proven ability to drive projects to successful completion.
~ Excellent skills in planning, organizing, prioritizing, and meeting construction deadlines.
~ Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
~ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
~ BS degree in Engineering, Business, or Construction Management preferred.
~ Minimum High School Diploma required
