Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), Scrum or other project management certification required
- 5+ years of project management experience, including demonstrated experience managing cross-functional projects
- Expert at navigating competing stakeholder priorities and driving alignment across complex, cross-functional teams.
- Proven track record managing risk across complex, high-visibility initiatives
- Expert with both waterfall and agile project delivery approaches
- Advanced proficiency with project management tools such as MS Project, Smartsheet, or equivalent
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Experience working in distribution, supply chain, logistics, or a similarly operational environment preferred
- Change management training or certification (e.g., Prosci or Kotter)
Summary
The Senior Project Manager leads complex, high‑visibility initiatives across operational, process, technology, and infrastructure domains. Operating with a high level of autonomy, this role serves as the central point of coordination—aligning cross‑functional teams, managing stakeholders and vendors, mitigating risk, and providing clear, actionable visibility to sponsors and leadership throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead multiple concurrent projects or complex, multi‑phase programs while managing interdependencies, shared resources, and competing priorities.
- Partner with executive sponsors and stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, success criteria, and change management needs.
- Develop and execute comprehensive project plans, selecting and adapting project methodologies based on complexity.
- Facilitate effective project meetings, decision forums, and working sessions that drive accountability and results.
- Build and maintain stakeholder engagement and communication plans with consistent, tailored updates.
- Monitor project performance against scope, schedule, and budget, escalating risks and variances with recommended actions.
- Identify, track, and proactively mitigate risks and issues throughout the project lifecycle.
- Manage vendor and supplier performance, enforcing contractual expectations and addressing delivery gaps.
- Produce clear project documentation, including charters, RACIs, decision logs, status reporting, and lessons learned.
- Provide informal coaching and peer support to elevate project management capabilities across the team.
