Compensation:

$150,000 to $200,000 per year annual salary.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Position: Sr. & Sr./Staff Mechanical Engineer

Duration: FTE

Location: San Jose, CA

Must Haves:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with 5-10+ years of semiconductor tool design experience especially in deposition systems.
  2. Familiarity with major CAD / CAE engineering tools.
  3. Familiarity with ASME Y14.5, SEMI, and other relevant standards and their use.
  4. Familiarity with systems engineering models and tools.
  5. Familiarity with design of critical mechanical systems for advanced semiconductor processing equipment, including process chambers, vacuum systems, gas and liquid chemical delivery, and controls in temperature, pressure, valve, and motion.
  6. Basic knowledge of classical fluid, heat & mass transfer.
  7. Participating in design reviews, reviewing, and providing feedback on others work including presentations, drawings and models.

Plusses:

  1. Master’s degree in mechanical engineering.
  2. Proficiency with NX and Teamcenter.
  3. Familiarity with basic CFD for gas dynamics.
  4. Experience in the development or design of plasma and/or thermal CVD/ALD semiconductor reactor components (e.g. high temp wafer heaters, gas distribution showerheads, electrostatic chucks, wafer lift mechanisms, bellows, etc.) and/or subsystems/support systems (e.g. liquid precursor delivery, vacuum systems, temperature control systems, etc.).
  5. Experience with metal deposition systems is plus. Especially with plasma assisted deposition systems.

Day-to-Day:

This ME position reports to the Director, Mechanical Engineering and requires knowledge of mechanical engineering fundamentals to perform design and required test in CVD and/or ALD semiconductor equipment system. The engineer will interface with cross functional teams to support design activities for new/modified designs and drive detailed design, validation and productization.

Major Responsibilities:

  1. Perform design of semiconductor equipment chamber and support systems according to functional and engineering specifications that meet performance, quality, reliability, cost, and schedule targets.
  2. Assure system quality and reliability by designing and performing test procedures.
  3. Conduct technical reviews of process requirements, specifications, standards, and design.
  4. Problem identification of a wide range of complex mechanical problems by taking a broad analytical perspective.
  5. Conduct concept and feasibility studies, Research and Development, and validation of new and modified designs.
  6. Support personnel in the generation of detailed engineering documentation required to effectively manufacture components and subsystems for prototypes and volume manufacturing.
