Project Manager
Our utilities client is seeking a PM to join their team on a long term basis to lead projects focused on economic development including substation and line rebuilds, new interconnect projects, and more.
Title: Project Manager
Duration: 3-year long contract w/ potential conversion permanent
- W2 contract
- Eligible for benefits on contract
- Paid $x1.5 for overtime!
Pay Rate: $40-55/hr - potential flexibility here for the right candidate!
Locations: On-site 3x/week in Plainfield, IN 46168
- On-site every Wednesday in Plainfield, will travel within a two-hour radius to client job sites in Southern Indiana (1x/week)
- Mileage – reimbursed
- Transmission HQ comes to Plainfield if not onsite at site visit. Count site visits as a day in the office - Can work 2 days from home
Hours/Shifts: Monday-Friday (8am-5pm)
Must haves:
- 2+ years of experience working as a project manager
- Experience working in the utilities industry
- Experience working with stakeholders and understanding construction processes within project management
- Associate's degree in business, engineering, etc.
Plusses:
- PMP certification
- Experience working with Maximo
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership, oversight management, delegation, and coordination to the various internal and external organizations that are providing services to the project (development, engineering, project controls, estimating, construction management, supply chain, legal, EHS, QA/QC, operations, communications, regulatory, security, fuels, transmission, etc.)
- The PM manages all matrixed members of the team on a daily basis and is responsible for interfacing with functional managers of team members, regarding placement, development, and conflict resolution
- Structure, lead, and/or assist in leading all project related meetings and reports required to ensure open communication between all team members, key stakeholders, and management (monthly project reviews, kickoff meetings, weekly reports, monthly reports, etc.) and to properly report project status
- Assure that Project Plan, all appropriate reports, and reporting means are developed and managed according to PMCoE Standards
- Drive the process of project planning including scope definition, estimating, schedule formation and monitoring, cost control measures, procurement/contracting strategies, equipment selection, vendor selection, start-up and commissioning plans, and integration processes
