Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Senior EH&S Advisor for a 5‑month contract supporting construction activities at a client’s Wink Terminal in Texas. The ideal candidate will be based in Odessa or Midland and willing to travel to site as required.
This role involves 12-hour workdays, with schedules aligned to the construction team’s needs (rotations such as 10 days on / 4 days off or 14 days on / 7 days off are possible).
The Senior EH&S Advisor will provide hands-on health and safety support to both the Energy Construction Management teams and facility operations. This individual will deliver technical and functional EH&S expertise while acting as a champion for the implementation and continuous improvement of health and safety processes.
Success in this role requires the ability to influence and lead others, supported by a strong understanding of health and safety fundamentals within brownfield and greenfield construction environments.
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Provides leadership, direction and expertise toward the implementation and verification of Health and Safety programs.
· Acts as coach/mentor/resource for EH&S matters related to construction and project engineering.
· Monitors safe work practices and behaviors of employees and contractors.
· Actively supports construction and project management while on site for the life of the project
· Monitors field staff to ensure they are current with all assigned training requirements.
· Conducts and provides guidance related to inspections and site assessments including the contracting firms in projects.
· Responds to incidents when required.
· Facilitates incident investigations to identify true root causation and aligned measurable actions.
· Ensures that EH&S systems, processes, programs, tools and controls are applied consistently throughout the life of a projects.
· Makes recommendations for improvements to procedures and practices in consultation with construction project leadership.
· Conducts, participates and assesses tail gate meetings field level audits as required.
- This role Requires a strong field presence (approx. 75% field, 25% office).
Required Skills & Experience
Must Haves:
· Minimum of 10 years of related field operations and/or EHS experience.
· Experience working in a health and safety environment in an energy, utility, and/or industrial construction sectors.
· Valid Drivers licence.
· Exhibits a passion for safety excellence.
· Demonstrates strong technical skills regarding field operations, construction, projects, and engineering.
· Proven self-motivated, team player with a positive attitude.
· Proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Demonstrates strong analytical skills with a sound understanding of root cause analysis
