Title: Project Manager

Location: Groton, CT (1x Per Week in North Kingston, RI)

Pay Range: $45-60/hr

Employment Type: 8-month contract-to-hire

**Must be eligible to obtain a US Secret Clearance**

Required Skills & Experience

  • 5–10 years of experience in project management within a defense or highly regulated industry
  • Background in engineering, operations, or production planning
  • Proven experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously
  • Strong experience working cross-functionally in a matrixed organization
  • Demonstrated ability to manage project schedules, timelines, and deliverables
  • Experience driving process improvement initiatives
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

  • Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt) or Lean certification
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification
  • Experience supporting shipbuilding, manufacturing, or large-scale engineering programs
  • Familiarity with enterprise planning systems, scheduling tools, or ERP platforms

Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Project Manager. This individual will play a key role in driving cross-functional initiatives that support operational efficiency and long-term planning within a highly regulated defense environment.

This person will partner closely with engineering, operations, and planning teams to manage schedules, track deliverables, and identify opportunities for process improvement. The ideal candidate brings a strong background within the defense industry and has experience leading multiple concurrent projects in complex, matrixed environments.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring alignment with enterprise planning goals, timelines, and deliverables
  • Coordinate across cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, planning, supply chain, etc.) to drive execution and remove blockers
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, milestones, and reporting metrics
  • Identify and implement process improvement opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce waste
  • Facilitate project meetings, status updates, and stakeholder communications across all levels of the organization
  • Track project risks, dependencies, and action items to ensure successful delivery
  • Support strategic planning initiatives by organizing data, driving alignment, and ensuring execution of key priorities
