Finance Manager (Finance Team)

Location: Segensworth, Fareham

Work Arrangements: Office based

Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 gross per annum

Hours: 40 per week

Mon–Fri: 8:30am–5:30pm

The purpose of the Finance Manager role is to take overall responsibility for Financial Operations and Controls, leading a team of three, with a focus on finance systems, accurate financial reporting and data visualisation.


A highly experienced, AAT-certified Finance Manager, who upholds the Insensys Core Cultural Values to a high standard. They will lead by example, champion their team members and ensure communication remains at the core of everything they do.


They will display a professional, meticulous and coherent attitude with a robust understanding of operational delivery, employee satisfaction and environmental impacts.


What you will be doing

  1. Responsibility for Finance Operations including day to day Cash Management, Sales Order Processing, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Inventory transaction processing, Fixed Assets, VAT and Customs Duties and Employee Expenses.
  2. Responsibility for robust and effective financial processes and controls which are proportionate to the company’s SME environment working closely with Internal Audit and/or External Audit should we meet the new statutory audit thresholds in the future.
  3. Responsibility for the administration and effective operation of Sage 200 including the bespoke Sales Order and Inventory modules.
  4. Responsibility for the visualisation of key financial data via Power BI.
  5. Responsibility for the line management, coaching and development of the Financial Accountant, Accounts Payable Clerk and Finance Apprentice.
  6. Responsibility for accurate and timely Project accounting including liaison with engineering teams, and Grant claim and R&D tax credit reporting, liaising with relevant external stakeholders.
  7. Responsibility for accurate monthly financial reporting within Sage 200 and supporting the Business Analyst with relevant financial data for management reporting and forecasting.


What you will bring

  • AAT qualification plus significant qualification by experience required
  • Sage 200 experience
  • Previous specific experience and knowledge of key financial controls
  • Good people management skills essential with proven experience of leading a small Finance Team
  • Power BI Experience preferable (or willingness to learn)
  • A passion for developing and motivating a team
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail
