About the role:


Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for driving "nil workplace injuries" through robust oversight and active engagement on-site. You will bridge the gap between global compliance standards and local operational excellence. In this role, you will partner with our site teams to build a sustainable safety culture, ensuring our projects are delivered to the highest standards of quality and environmental care


Key Responsibilities:


  • Risk Management: Lead the identification and control of hazards, facilitating risk assessments and developing Safe Work Methods (SWMS).
  • Compliance & Audit: Conduct regular on-site audits and reviews to coach workers and managers on best-practice behaviors.
  • Incident Management: Triage workplace incidents, support root cause analysis (RCA/ICAM), and investigations.
  • Training & Culture: Provide on-the-ground coaching to field teams to build their HSEQ leadership capability.
  • Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with stakeholders to roll out safety engagement programs and identify better ways of working.


What You'll Bring


  • Formal qualifications in HSEQ with a minimum Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety
  • Certificate IV in Training advantageous
  • Current driver's licence
  • 5 + years experience as an HSEQ Advisor in an Operations environment (transmission, construction or energy/power sector preferred).
  • Multi-site/project environment experience
  • Strong knowledge of Australian HSEQ legislation, regulations & standards
  • Proven skills in relationship management, collaboration and coaching
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Practical, "hands-on" approach to your work and have strong planning and organisational skills.
  • You are committed to ongoing learning and can handle confidential information with the utmost professionalism.
