Responsibilities

  • Review operating portfolio performance across a range of renewable energy investments, including production, pricing, revenue, operating expenses, and other asset level performance indicators
  • Work directly with investment counterparties to collect and verify operational and financial KPIs and resolve commercial issues
  • Build, maintain, and enhance financial models, including project operating proformas and portfolio level analyses, to assess economics, identify risks, and measure performance against underwriting expectations
  • Support development of internal portfolio monitoring tools, analytics, and reporting processes
  • Collaborate closely with cross functional teams
  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc briefing decks and management materials summarizing portfolio performance, emerging risks, and value enhancing opportunities
  • Support due diligence on new investments, including production, operating expenses, price forecasts, and other underwriting inputs
  • Associates: own designated modeling and analytical workstreams, flag issues affecting portfolio performance, and propose solutions

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree from a four year institution required; Master's in Finance, Economics, or Business a plus
  • Analyst: typically 2 to 3 years of relevant experience
  • Associate: typically 3 to 5 years of relevant experience, with demonstrated strength in financial modeling and independent analytical ownership
  • Relevant background includes renewable energy project finance, asset management or valuation, or finance and investment banking in power, infrastructure, energy, or climate
  • Strong Excel financial modeling and data mining skills, with experience in complex models
  • Strong interpersonal skills and comfort in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Curious, organized, detail oriented, and able to manage shifting priorities
  • Dependable, proactive, and able to work independently while contributing as a team player
  • Genuine interest in climate investing and renewable energy markets
