We are best known for our LobbyMap platform, which analyzes corporate advocacy on climate change and biodiversity, alongside our FinanceMap and Carbon Majors platforms. Our work has been featured in media globally, used by hundreds of investors, and informed numerous climate campaigns. With offices in London, New York, Tokyo, Seoul, Canberra, and Brussels, we're a team of 70+ dynamic professionals shaping the climate conversation worldwide.
We are seeking a tech-savvy Communications & Media Support Officer to support our existing media and communications team (based in London and New York) and help us significantly increase our media reach and communications output in new regions. This role is perfect for someone who thrives at the intersection of journalism, digital innovation, and climate action—and who is excited about leveraging emerging technologies to maximize impact.
Based in Brazil, you will focus on Latin America markets and support our regional communications efforts, working with talented teams across time zones to amplify groundbreaking climate research through strategic media engagement, compelling content, and smart use of digital tools.

What You Will Do:
Media Relations & Strategic Outreach
- Support media engagement in your region, helping to build and nurture relationships with key media contacts in climate, sustainability, business, and finance journalism
- Assist with media release coordination for the region, working collaboratively with communications leads and local teams to ensure timely, impactful announcements
- Monitor the pulse of sustainability conversations in your region—tracking emerging issues, policy developments, and media trends to identify strategic opportunities
- Help craft compelling narratives from complex climate data and research, creating first drafts of press releases, event descriptions, newsletters, and other communications materials
- Support the delivery of short-form content strategies, working with regional teams on insights pieces, webinar concepts, and thought leadership content
- Drive social media presence by creating engaging content for each research release and crafting timely reactions to breaking sustainability news
- Leverage technology to optimize communications workflows—from CRM systems to marketing automation to AI-assisted content tools
- Manage key data tasks, including website registrations, media archive updates, and other digital administration that keep our platforms current
- Identify and implement new tools and approaches that give us a competitive edge in reaching and engaging our audiences
- Build strategic relationships with communications partners across the region
- Collaborate globally with InfluenceMap teams worldwide, contributing to cross-regional campaigns and learning from international best practices
- Support event coordination to amplify InfluenceMap's presence at key regional gatherings
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Media relations experience working with journalists, with an understanding of how newsrooms operate
- Exceptional English fluency: Near-native written and spoken English
- Regional language skills: Portuguese fluency essential; Spanish highly valuable
- Digital native: Comfortable with social media platforms, content management systems, and eager to explore emerging communications technologies
- Strong writing skills: Ability to translate complex climate research into clear, compelling narratives for diverse audiences
- Systems proficiency: Quick to learn new software and platforms; experience with standard communications and productivity tools
- Right to work in Brazil
- Salesforce and/or Mailchimp experience: Familiarity with CRM and email marketing platforms
- AI/automation curiosity: Interest in or experience with using new tools to enhance communication efficiency
- Climate/sustainability knowledge: Understanding of climate policy, corporate sustainability, or environmental journalism
- Regional expertise: Understanding of media landscapes, policy processes, and stakeholder networks in your region
- Social media: Experience in building and growing a social media presence (e.g., increasing followers, engagement, or reach)
