About InfluenceMap And The Opportunity

InfluenceMap is a globally recognized non-profit think tank driving change on climate and sustainability. We produce cutting-edge, objective research on how businesses and finance impact the climate crisis, working collaboratively across corporate, finance, public, civil society, and media sectors.

InfluenceMap is best known for its LobbyMap platform, which analyzes corporate advocacy and policy engagement activities related to climate change and biodiversity loss. Our work has been featured in the media globally, used by hundreds of investors, and informed numerous climate campaigns. Other workstreams include the FinanceMap platform, which assesses the climate credentials of the financial sector, and the Carbon Majors platform, which tracks emissions from the world's largest polluters. With offices in London, New York, Tokyo, Seoul, Canberra, and Brussels, we're a team of 70+ dynamic professionals shaping the climate conversation worldwide.

We are seeking a Program Support Officer for our Australia Program for six months, starting January 2026. This role has been created to support our Australia Program Manager during an extended period of parental leave.

During the first three months, you will work closely with the Program Manager (who will be available two days per week) to learn InfluenceMap's methodologies, build relationships with key stakeholders, and take on specific responsibilities in stakeholder engagement and project management. For the remaining three months, you will work more independently (reporting to a director based outside Australia), maintaining these functions and ensuring continuity for the Australia Program.

This is an excellent opportunity for anyone eager to learn about InfluenceMap and gain hands-on experience with our platforms, research methods, and stakeholder engagement strategies. Subject to review, the role may lead to further opportunities at InfluenceMap for a successful candidate.

  • Work alongside the Program Manager initially to learn relationship management approaches, then maintain these relationships independently

  • Identify opportunities to expand and strengthen our stakeholder network across the region

Project and Research Management

  • Support a talented group of analysts in the timely delivery of briefings, projects, and other content to drive impact across Australia's climate policy engagement landscape
  • Help coordinate research priorities and ensure outputs meet InfluenceMap's rigorous quality standards
