Our team focus on incorporate holistic sustainability principles into organisations and the built environment. Through our impact advisory services, we are focused on organisational strategies to support client to embed the right approach across a business. In the built environment specifically we off a design-led in our approach to sustainability, using a systems-based model for implementing sustainability understanding how Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) factors into long-term resilience planning and immediate action. We understand a current imperative for clients is the climate crisis through actions like climate-related reporting. Our services will include resource management, resilience, human experience, community investment and nature.


About the role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sustainability Consultant to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with proven experience delivering ESG strategies, climate-related risk and opportunity advice, and navigating the evolving sustainability landscape in Australia.


You will work across a range of sectors, supporting clients in developing and implementing tailored sustainability strategies, ESG frameworks, and roadmaps that align with regulatory, stakeholder, and business priorities.


This position offers the opportunity to be at the forefront of advisory services that lead to deeper engagements across resilience, carbon management, climate, circularity, and sustainable procurement.


Key areas of responsibility:

We are seeking a sustainability practitioner who is keen to work in a business which combines organizational and project-led sustainability.

  • Lead and deliver end-to-end ESG strategy development and sustainability roadmaps across multiple industries
  • Provide expert guidance on Australian Sustainability Reporting Standard AASB S2 inclusive of climate-related risk and opportunity assessments, in line with frameworks such as ASRS, IFRS S1&S2 and evolving Australian regulatory standards
  • Provide expert guidance on carbon accounting for scope 1,2,&3
  • Digitisation of services relevant to ESG
  • Support clients in preparing climate and ESG disclosures, aligning with Australian Climate Reporting Requirements, global standards, and investor expectations
  • Translate strategic advisory work into delivery-focused engagements on:
  • Carbon and decarbonisation pathways
  • Nature and biodiversity strategy
  • Circular economy and resource management
  • Responsible and sustainable procurement
  • Work collaboratively with internal specialists and external stakeholders to co-create practical, sector-specific sustainability solutions
  • Stay ahead of emerging ESG trends, climate policy changes, and reporting frameworks to inform strategic advice
  • Facilitate client workshops, stakeholder engagements, and board-level presentations
  • Contribute to business development and thought leadership in the sustainability advisory space


As a leader within Impact Futures, the candidate should bring passion and a point of view toward emerging issues in sustainability, inspiring staff across 7C companies to embed sustainability into projects and expand our relationship with clients


Key deliverables:

  • Manage and deliver contribution to projects on time, to budget and specification
  • Lead a team to develop relevant digital tools and guidelines, streamline process, for climate-related assessments, GHG Scope 1,2&3 and decarbonization.
  • Identify clients, develop business and opportunities, support 7C companies in pursuing major projects and clients, maintain client relationships, and work to differentiate the 7C offering in the Australian market
  • Expand the technical capacity of the Impact Futures team in the Australian region by developing work opportunities and pipeline to support additional staff
  • Provide thought leadership as part of internal/external communications and brand awareness
  • Support multiple studios across time zones on projects and client development
  • Coordinate internal communications and reporting for sustainability initiatives


About You

You bring experience working in sectors such as infrastructure, insurance, financial services, property, government, or energy, and have a solid technical understanding of carbon accounting, SBTi, nature-related frameworks (such as TNFD), and procurement sustainability tools. You are also familiar with climate scenario analysis tools and materiality assessments, enabling you to contribute confidently to a wide range of projects.


Comfortable engaging with clients and representing Impact Futures externally, you communicate clearly and effectively - whether in writing, in person, or electronically - and thrive in collaborative, team-based environments. You have the ability to think broadly across multiple focus areas, applying analytical thinking to draw meaningful conclusions and communicate them in a clear and practical way. Naturally outgoing and persuasive, you combine excellent planning and organisational skills with the flexibility required in a fast-paced environment. You are able to manage multiple projects and subtasks without losing sight of priorities, while also directing your own research, generating new ideas, and innovating in your approach. Above all, you enjoy working within diverse teams, contributing both technical knowledge and consulting expertise to deliver high-quality outcomes.


You will be able to demonstrate:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in sustainability consulting, ESG advisory, corporate sustainability, or climate strategy
  • Deep understanding of ESG frameworks, such as GRI, ASRS, IFRS ISSB, SASB, and their application across industries
  • Familiarity with Australian climate-related disclosure requirements and evolving corporate sustainability regulations
  • Familiarity with nature related reporting framework TFND and circular economy principles
  • Proven experience in developing and delivering sustainability strategies across diverse sectors
  • Strong capability in climate risk/opportunity analysis and translating findings into business-relevant strategies
  • Strong capability in scope1,2 & 3 strategies and carbon accounting, ability to apply to various sectors and transition to roadmaps and reporting,
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence, engage, and lead stakeholders at all levels
  • Project management experience with ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Relevant qualifications in environmental science, sustainability, business, or related fields
  • Experience with collaborative working environments.
  • Experienced in use of analysis climate related software.
  • Experience with embodied carbon modeling.
