Procurement Assistant (Sustainability Reporting & AI)
The procurement assistant role is ideal for recent graduates or young professionals who want to build a career at the intersection of procurement, Sustainability, reporting, data and AI.
What you will do
As a Procurement Assistant, you will support the Procurement Center of Excellence in sustainability reporting, analytics, process improvement and AI-driven initiatives. You will help ensure accurate procurement reporting while contributing to sustainability and efficiency projects.
You don't need prior procurement experience. We will teach you the procurement processes. What matters most is your analytical mindset, eagerness to learn and interest in data and AI.
Your Responsibilities:
- Support the preparation of procurement reports, dashboards and presentations.
- Own and further develop the procurement data sets, in support of our ongoing maturity journey
- Assist in tracking procurement KPIs, savings and performance metrics.
- Help improve reporting processes and data quality.
- Support sustainability reporting and procurement-related ESG initiatives.
- Develop and execute the multiple year Scope 3 carbon accounting roadmap (scope 3.1: purchased goods & services, and scope 3.2: CAPEX).
- Explore opportunities to automate reporting and processes using AI and digital tools.
- Assist colleagues with procurement-related systems and processes.
- Advise imec employees on procurement processes, policies, and sustainable purchasing choices.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Procurement team.
- Support administrative and operational procurement activities where needed.

Who you are
- You recently graduated with a bachelor's or master’s degree in business management, Supply Chain, Applied Economics, Data & AI, or a related field.
- You are looking for a first professional experience or have up to 2 years of work experience.
- You have a Work hard, play hard, attitude, wanting to make an impact and roll up your sleeves.
- You have stakeholder management, communication, and project management skills.
- You have a passion and/or appetite for Scope 3 emissions, GHG accounting, and sustainability reporting frameworks.
- You enjoy working with data, reports and administrative processes.
- You have strong Excel skills and are eager to learn tools such as Power BI, SAP and AI-powered reporting solutions.
- You are detail-oriented, organized and enjoy bringing structure to information.
- You are curious about how AI can improve business processes and reporting.
- You like collaborating with different stakeholders and are not afraid to ask questions.
- You are eager to learn and develop your procurement knowledge.
- You communicate fluently in English. Knowledge of Dutch is a plus.
