About ILX Management
ILX Management B.V. (ILX) is an Amsterdam-based emerging market-focused private credit asset manager. It manages private debt funds with €1.7 billion of commitments from leading Dutch and Danish pension fund investors, which invest in project-based loan participations originated and structured by Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs) and Development Finance Institutions (DFI).
ILX vision and mission is to create large-scale investment opportunities in global development finance that contribute to sustainable development across emerging markets, safeguarding ESG risks and supporting the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the Paris Agreement Climate goals.
ILX was founded with grant support from the Germen Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation (KfW) on behalf of the General Ministry for Development Cooperation (BMZ), the Netherlands’ Directorate General for International Cooperation and the UK’s Foreign and Commonwealth Development Office (FCDO).
The team & your role
The Investment and Research Analyst is part of ILX’s Investment Team, which is responsible for investment selection, appraisal, and portfolio management. The investment team manages a portfolio of over 80 projects across a wide range of geographies, 32 countries, and sectors including energy, infrastructure, transportation, telecommunications, manufacturing, financial institutions and agriculture.
In this role you will acquire knowledge of how to review and analyse investment proposals, across Project Finance, Corporates and Financial Institutions, notably from a financial and a sustainability point of view. You will gain knowledge in investment and portfolio management processes, and develop your expertise in efficient analytical, communication and presentation tools. You will also get a strong understanding of the work done by global development banks and a deep insight into their projects in Latin America, Africa, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
In addition to the above, you will leverage your quantitative, data and AI skills to analyze existing cross investment, financial market and portfolio data, identifying key insights and trends, and translating these into high-quality presentations, reports, and management information for internal and external stakeholders. You will gain deep insight into the objectives and processes of leading investment investors. Finally, you will assist different teams in model improvement and automation projects.
More specifically your responsibilities will compose of:
- Provide analytical and research support to the investment function;
- Participate in the preparation of investment proposals to be presented to the Investment Committee, including financial analysis and KYC;
- Participate in the portfolio management process by drafting portfolio reviews, including market and financial analyses;
- Support the investment staff in processing change request, disbursement requests, or any other information follow-up;
- Support the analytical and data reports that support our investor relations activities, including specific market, portfolio or research reports;
- Conduct and support recurring analytics activities by reviewing existing reports, extracting data from internal systems, and identifying key trends, patterns, and insights;
- Develop analytical outputs and presentations by translating quantitative and qualitative findings into clear reports, visualizations, dashboards, and presentation-ready materials for internal and external stakeholders;
- Drive continuous improvement in reporting and analysis by responding to ad hoc requests, enhancing analytical processes, and identifying opportunities for automation and more effective data communication;
- Help improve in-house tooling and models, including AI, used in the investment process through co-development and/or testing.
What will you bring us?
Qualifications and experience
- A master’s degree in a technical, quantitative discipline in Econometrics, Finance, or other technical disciplines;
- 2-4 years relevant work experience in Asset Management, Finance, or a relevant field for ILX;
- Experience with Financial Market instruments.
- Advanced Excel, Power BI/Tableau, and Powerpoint skills;
- Experience in coding; any language is acceptable, but Python is an advantage.

Our team is office-based, and we are looking for a colleague who values collaboration in person in a diverse environment. This role requires presence in our Olympic Stadium office, living in or near Amsterdam is a definite plus.
