Senior Operations Manager

Ignite Search is a specialist recruitment company within the Technology & Renewables space, located in Singapore.


Our client is a high-growth, Singapore-based ClimateTech company operating within the sustainable energy and advanced materials ecosystem. They are entering a critical commercial scale-up phase and is building out its first commercial facility in Singapore.


They are seeking a senior Operations leader to drive plant performance, operational systems, and scale execution.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead full lifecycle delivery from pilot scale to commercial-scale operations
  • Translate pilot and R&D data into scalable engineering design and plant specifications
  • Define project scope, schedule, CAPEX and resource planning
  • Oversee FEED coordination, EPCM management and contractor performance
  • Drive plant design reviews, utilities integration and layout optimisation
  • Lead construction oversight, mechanical completion and commissioning activities
  • Establish engineering quality, safety and performance standards
  • Secure and maintain relevant Singapore regulatory approvals (NEA, SCDF, MOM, PUB)
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, chemical handling and safety frameworks
  • Implement SOPs, maintenance frameworks and operating systems
  • Own plant KPIs including OEE, uptime, yield and cost-per-ton performance
  • Manage operational budgets and capital planning
  • Identify, evaluate and manage EPC contractors, consultants and technical vendors
  • Work cross-functionally with R&D and leadership to ensure scalable plant design
  • Report project progress, risk and commercial decisions to senior management


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Process or Industrial Engineering
  • 8–15+ years’ experience in EPC, EPCM or owner-side industrial project delivery
  • Proven track record delivering projects from concept through commissioning
  • Experience scaling industrial or process technologies from pilot to commercial scale
  • Strong understanding of plant engineering design, commissioning and manufacturing systems
  • Solid experience in contractor management, schedule control and CAPEX oversight
  • Familiarity with Singapore’s regulatory landscape for industrial facilities
  • Strong operations management experience across maintenance, logistics and EH&S
  • Comfortable operating within R&D-driven, high-growth environments
  • Excellent analytical, leadership and communication skills
