The Opportunity

The Intelligent Communities Lifecycle (ICL) Operations Team sits at the core of the organisation, providing technical support and assistance to external clients with the primary aim of enabling new users to successfully utilise the ICL within their business. Internally, the team supports most departments, including Sales, Consultancy, R&D, Software Development and Marketing.

The ICL is a suite of interconnected software tools that facilitates the planning, design and operation of energy efficient and sustainable cities, communities, campuses, portfolios, buildings and local energy networks.

The successful candidate will be a client-facing, problem solver who is technically strong in their area-of-expertise. Whilst this role is for the ICL Operations Team, like all team members, there will be opportunities to work in other departments depending on the successful candidate’s background and skillset.

Tasks and responsibilities include the following:

  • Provide practical advice and operational support to enable partners and customers to utilise the ICL within their business
  • Responsible for coordinating technical support and training of partners and customers
  • Collaborate with Business Development Managers to provide technical support for client meetings, bids, demos and workshops
  • Collect and collate customer feedback to allow rapid development of essential features
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to provide technical support with marketing material and website content
  • Prepare and deliver webinars to support targeted campaigns
  • Collect and collate market intelligence for use across the business

The Candidate

We are looking for an experienced building services consultant to join our growing ICL team with the following skills and experience:

Essential Skills:

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant engineering discipline such as Architectural Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Energy Engineering
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in sustainable building design or energy services
  • Awareness of digital technologies across the construction sector
  • Awareness of issues surrounding the decarbonisation of the built environment
  • Experience using IES VE or other energy modelling software
  • Commercial awareness
  • Ability to write technical reports to high quality
  • Assertive communicator who is confident in front of clients

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of the ICL tools
  • Knowledge of voluntary environmental rating schemes such as LEED, BREEAM, NABERS etc
