UI Designer

Dublin, Glasgow or Remote

This role will be working from our Dublin or Glasgow office with hybrid and flexible working options available. From time to time, travel to our Glasgow/Dublin office will be required to collaborate with the wider design team.

Remote working from other locations will also be considered.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a confident designer who can take directions, develop concepts and interactions that contribute to a project’s vision. You create beautifully polished design work and obsess over details until your work is perfect to present with confidence.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Communicate visually to get feedback and set direction
  • Ideate and work directly with other designers, developers and product owners
  • Develop and maintain icon-sets to be shared across the organisation
  • Create, maintain shared illustrations and other visual communication assets
  • Use, build and improve upon existing Design Language
  • Develop guides that create cohesive, positive user experiences across multiple product lines
  • Support cross functional teams to adopt your UI designs by using a Design-System
  • Ensure consistency of the UI, Interactions, Components, Brand and other contributions to the roadmap
  • Maintain and deploy UI components across the organisation
  • Gather feedback and evaluate your designs by carrying out user testing of prototypes with new and existing users
  • Overlap with the company’s processes

The Candidate

This role is an excellent opportunity for a designer at the beginning of their career looking to move on to the next challenge. We are looking for candidates who have a passion for UI and visual design with a successful track record working independently and as part of a design team. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

Essential Skills:

  • Minimum 3-4 year’s experience in similar role
  • Experience working in frontend UI design
  • Illustration and sketching skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate in both spoken and written English
  • Notable visual design and prototyping skills
  • Understanding of how design translates to code
  • Exceptional skills with leading design and creative tools
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Good communication skills and a creative approach to problem solving
  • Guerrilla research or more advance methods of user research
  • Ability to work with and without a team and across different teams
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities, manage own time & set priorities
  • The ability to collaborate and communicate with other designers, developers and product owners in prototyping solutions for new and existing problems
  • Provide design inspection, develop guides and support developers
  • Assist engineering and product management teams throughout production feature implementation, contributing with visual assets and shared styles

Desirable:

  • Awareness of accessibility & usability
  • HTML, CSS, REACT knowledge and abilities
  • Basic graphic design experience
  • UX experience
  • Video and animation skills
  • QT / Visual Studio, MS Visio
  • Ability to work in AGILE environment
  • TFS or GIT experience
