The IES Network domain team is looking for applicants to contribute to our state-of-the art code advanced network physics simulation product, the Intelligent Virtual Network (iVN). The team employs mathematical modelling techniques & cutting age tools, to develop energy conservation and optimisation techniques including an intelligent building control system.
Applicants will be responsible for designing and implementing the automation of test cases. Our QA Automation Engineers operating within the development team, meaning they will be expected to contribute their testing insights during early stages of product refinement. Inside the development team they will also champion best practices testing practices and contribute ideas for process improvements at retrospectives.
Though this role is specifically for the Network domain team, they will be part of our larger QA community. These means applicants will be able to learn from and be supported by their peers in other teams within IES.
For this role candidates require with the following skills and experience:
- Experience with writing automated test scripts or using scripting tools
- Ability to critically analyse requirements, such as User Stories
- Strong communication skills, especially the context of highlighting ambiguity
- Comfortable learning and adapting, to facilitate the needs of our iterative approach Familiarity relating to coding concepts, such as STLC, OOP and CI/CD
- Willingness to be part of a team that is open, collaborative and always striving to improve
- Background in software testing or software development
- Practical knowledge in an objective-oriented language, preference for C#
- Knowledge of Azure DevOps Pipelines, Microsoft Visual Studio and Jenkins
