The Opportunity

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Cloud Architect who is seeking a once in a lifetime opportunity to lead a small, hand-picked team of engineers in architecting a cloud-based platform for our software systems. The platform you create will take advantage of the latest innovations in cloud computing, data storage and machine learning systems to enable IES to offer our customers world-leading analytics enabling a better environment for all. You will report to the Chief Operations Officer who is based in Dublin.

Duties will include:

  • Create a well-informed strategy to migrate all IES software systems and datasets to take advantage of the latest innovations and standards in cloud computing
  • Manage the implementation of this strategy across multiple teams and software stacks to create a secure, scalable and highly available software platform for IES’s current and future requirements
  • Design and manage the implementation of a highly automated CI/CD system for all system components
  • Work closely with the product team to ensure milestones are delivered in a logical and timely manner aligned with the business needs

The Candidate

  • 10+ years (or the ability to demonstrate this level of experience) of hands-on system architecture experience, with at least 4 of those in a cloud-based environment.
  • Experience working with cross functional teams to gather business requirements and implement product
  • Strong understanding of information processing principles and practices
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to manage business and technical relationships with internal and external clients.

The IES Cloud Engineering Team

The newly-formed cloud engineering team has been tasked with developing a cloud-based platform to support IES’s current and future data and software systems. This team is core to IES’s future in providing the platform upon which our current and future software system will be built.
