The Opportunity

IES has multiple openings for experienced Building Sustainability Engineers and Commissioning Engineers with strong project experience who are keen to develop their careers with a company at the forefront of built environment simulation technology.

The “Intelligent Communities Lifecycle” (ICL) is our suite of interconnected tools which facilitates the planning, design and operation of energy-efficient and sustainable cities, communities, campuses, portfolios, buildings and local networks. The market for our products and services is vast, and currently there is a lot of untapped potential.

The candidate will be working as part of a global team, using our newest, cutting-edge digital twinning technology, working on high-profile projects. They will be advising clients on indoor environmental performance and resource consumption within buildings and the wider urban context; focusing not only on design but also on operation and management.

The Candidate

Essential Skills:

  • Educated to degree level in a relevant engineering discipline, such as mechanical/electrical, building services or sustainability engineering
  • Knowledge of design, installation and commissioning of building HVAC systems
  • Field experience and an understanding of the commissioning process
  • Prior experience of energy and sustainability in buildings, undertaking analyses such as energy modelling, energy auditing, retrofits or retro-commissioning
  • Familiar with MEP systems, controls and building automation systems
  • Experience with data acquisition, analysis and storage
  • Clear and confident communication skills

Desirable skills:

  • Experience of using building simulation software or other mechanical design/analysis software. Full training in our technology will be provided
  • Data analysis skills – ability to extract and analyse complex data sets, making use of software-based tools, as required
  • Familiar with the international performance measurement and verification protocol.
