About IES Live

IES Live is building performance delivered as a managed service — powered by building physics and managed by performance experts. Combining physics-based simulation with real building data, it delivers engineering-grade insights that help organisations de-risk capital investment, reduce operational energy costs, identify the most effective retrofit opportunities, and verify savings against agreed baselines.

Through interactive dashboards, finance, sustainability and facilities teams gain a single view of building performance, planned interventions and realised savings, helping drive collaboration, transparency and long-term cost and carbon reduction.

IES Live is already delivering verified results across a wide range of estates, including NHS trusts, universities, supermarkets, airports and cultural venues.

The Role

We are looking for a Business Development Manager to join the IES Live team and drive new logo acquisition across the UK. Working closely with the IES Live Director, you will identify, develop and convert opportunities within our target market of multi-site organisations operating large property portfolios.

This is a true new business role, focused on opening doors, building relationships and creating a repeatable pipeline of high-quality opportunities. You'll play a key role in shaping the go-to-market approach for IES Live and will be measured on your ability to generate pipeline and convert new customers.

What You'll Do

  • Own new logo acquisition for IES Live, building and converting a qualified pipeline of target accounts.
  • Work closely with the IES Live Director on territory planning, target account selection and go-to-market initiatives.
  • Generate opportunities through outbound prospecting, including phone, email, social selling, events and industry networks.
  • Build relationships with senior stakeholders across estates, energy, sustainability, facilities and operations functions.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from qualification and discovery through to proposal, negotiation and close.
  • Develop compelling business cases aligned to customer objectives around energy reduction, carbon savings, compliance and capital planning.
  • Leverage customer success stories and verified outcomes to build credibility and create urgency with prospects.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline, forecast and activity data within the CRM system.
  • Represent IES Live at exhibitions, conferences and industry events.
  • Share market insight, customer feedback and competitor intelligence to support the continued growth of IES Live.

Skills & Experience

  • Proven track record of winning new business and generating new logo sales in a Business Development Manager or similar role.
  • Experience selling SaaS, software, energy, engineering, building services or built environment solutions.
  • A genuine hunter mentality with the ability to self-generate pipeline and create opportunities through proactive outbound activity.
  • Experience engaging with senior decision-makers and influencing stakeholders across complex organisations.
  • Strong consultative and value-based selling skills.
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities and maintain accurate sales forecasts.
  • Highly organised, self-motivated and results driven.
  • Experience selling into multi-site organisations or estate portfolios would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of building performance, energy management, retrofit or decarbonisation programmes would be beneficial.

Nice to Have

  • Experience selling managed services, energy services or recurring revenue solutions.
  • Existing network within estates, facilities, sustainability or energy management sectors.
  • Knowledge of building performance analytics, digital twins or building optimisation technologies.
  • Experience working with public sector organisations, healthcare, education, defence or large commercial estates.
  • Familiarity with MEDDICC, Challenger, SPIN or similar sales methodologies.

What Success Looks Like

  • Generation of a strong qualified pipeline within agreed target accounts and sectors.
  • Achievement of new logo and revenue targets.
  • Consistent sales activity and progression of opportunities through the sales funnel.
  • High-quality territory and account plans aligned to agreed growth objectives.
  • Strong collaboration with the IES Live Director and wider IES teams to secure and expand customer relationships.

Why Join us

  • Be part of a growing climate tech business helping organisations reduce energy costs, lower carbon emissions and improve building performance at scale.
  • Work alongside industry-leading experts in building physics, energy management and sustainability.
  • Play a key role in driving the growth of an innovative managed service with a proven track record of delivering measurable results.
