The Role
We are seeking a Building Performance Engineer to join our IESVE Software Sales team in a post‑sales, customer‑facing role. You will work closely with engineering and architectural customers to support the technical implementation, adoption, and ongoing use of IES software solutions.
This role blends building physics expertise with customer engagement, combining technical training, software support, and light consulting to ensure customers realise maximum value from our products.
What You’ll Do
- Support engineers and architects with building performance simulation, including energy and daylight modelling
- Provide energy conservation and performance improvement recommendations for building projects
- Deliver technical training, seminars, and product demonstrations to new and existing customers
- Support software onboarding and adoption in collaboration with the IES business development team
- Provide post‑sales technical support and workflow guidance for IES software users
- Prepare technical content including studies, white papers, videos, FAQs, and presentations
- Deliver live or recorded presentations to increase awareness of building performance modelling
- Participate in conferences, trade shows, and customer events
- Carry out occasional building performance consulting projects and report writing
- Travel occasionally within the United States as required
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related discipline
- Professional experience within HVAC, MEP, or building performance engineering
- Proficiency with IESVE software or similar building performance tools
- At least 1 years’ experience in consulting, solution selling, sales engineering, or other client‑facing roles
- Strong understanding of ASHRAE standards including 90.1, 62.1, 55, 170, and 209
- Solid knowledge of heat transfer, building envelopes, HVAC systems, and room load calculations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly
- Confident delivering technical presentations online and in person to varied audiences
Nice to Have
- Master’s degree in mechanical, Architectural, or a related engineering discipline
- Experience training or educating peers in building performance analysis
- Active involvement in industry bodies such as ASHRAE, IBPSA, or USGBC
- Experience with BEM, lighting design, CFD modelling, or Python scripting
- Ability to work US Central or Mountain Time Zone hours
