Job Summary
As a Drone Operations & Maintenance Technician at HyLight, you will be at the heart of our field operations. You will prepare, deploy, operate, and maintain the HyLighter during missions across France and Europe. Your role is to ensure that every operation runs smoothly, safely, and in compliance with applicable regulations.
You will work directly on-site and collaborate closely with the regulatory and technical teams. Your missions will include pre-flight checks, flight operations, and on-the-ground maintenance, with a strong focus on data acquisition and system functionality.

- Maintain HyLight's airship drones (HyLighters) during inspection missions
- Ensure safe, efficient, and compliant flight operations
- Conduct system checks, calibrations, and maintenance
- Work hand-in-hand with regulatory staff for flight approvals
- Represent HyLight on-site with clients and maintain professional communication
- Suggest improvements to flight procedures or drone reliability based on field feedback

Technical Skills
- Assemble, wire, and solder electronic components (PCB-level or subassemblies) according to engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and manufacturing procedures.
- Integrate electronic assemblies into mechanical or aerospace systems (e.g., modules, payloads, avionics bays).
- Conduct basic electrical tests (continuity, insulation, functional tests).
- Comfort with fieldwork, including travel across France and Europe
- Familiarity with flight planning tools and aviation safety protocols
- Knowledge of data collection systems and sensors (cameras, LiDAR, etc.)
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues during operations
- Willingness to assist with logistics, maintenance, and client communication.
- Experience in UAV operations, ideally with large drones or industrial applications
- Valid drone pilot certification (French DGAC or European equivalent)
- Good communication skills and teamwork mindset
- Highly organized and detail-oriented in documentation and execution
- Enjoys hands-on work (prototyping, setup, field testing)
- Willingness to be present on-site during test and flight activities
- Curious, analytical and proactive in problem-solving
