Now entering a new phase of expansion, they are appointing a Senior Project Manager – Transmission in Phoenix, AZ, to lead advanced system studies and help shape the future of the grid

The Role

As Senior Project Manager – Transmission, you will:

  • Lead transmission planning and operational studies including power flow, stability, short-circuit, and voltage analysis
  • Oversee evaluations for generator interconnection, congestion management, and harmonics, ensuring compliance with NERC/FERC and regional standards
  • Direct multidisciplinary teams of engineers and consultants, delivering rigorous technical work and client-ready outputs
  • Manage the use of industry-standard planning software (PSS/E, PSLF, PSCAD, ETAP, Promod, etc.)
  • Partner with utilities, ISOs, and developers to establish study objectives and deliver actionable recommendations
  • Oversee budgets, staffing, QA/QC processes, and performance for your project portfolio
  • Present findings to clients through technical reports, presentations, and executive briefings
  • Mentor and guide less experienced engineers, building technical depth and leadership capability in your team

The Person

You will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s or PE licence preferred)
  • 8+ years in utility, consulting, or EPC roles with a strong focus on transmission system planning
  • Deep understanding of NERC, FERC, and regional transmission requirements
  • Proficiency in transmission planning tools (PSS/E, PSLF, PSCAD, ETAP, SKM, Promod)
  • Experience engaging with U.S. system operators (PJM, MISO, CAISO, ERCOT, SPP, WECC, etc.)
  • Demonstrated leadership of teams and delivery of multiple, client-facing studies
  • Strong communicator — able to engage engineers, clients, and executives alike
