The Opportunity:
A senior opportunity for an Electrical Engineer / Power Systems professional looking to operate at the intersection of electricity transmission, regulation, energy policy and market design.
The position sits within a major European transmission environment dealing with the technical and market implications of a rapidly changing electricity system.
The organisation therefore requires senior technical specialists capable of understanding these developments, translating them into corporate policy and providing the engineering insight required to help influence and steer market design.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor developments across electricity markets, regulation and market design.
- Assess the technical implications of regulatory and market developments for the transmission system.
- Translate external market and regulatory developments into technical and corporate policy.
- Provide engineering insight to support and influence future electricity-market design.
- Bridge complex electrical engineering and power-system topics with policy and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate complex technical issues clearly to non-engineering and senior stakeholders.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders across technical, market and regulatory topics.
- Provide senior technical input into strategic discussions affecting the future transmission system.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Master's degree expected, ideally within Electrical Engineering, Power Systems or a closely related technical discipline.
- Good understanding of electricity transmission and the wider power-system environment.
- Experience or strong exposure to energy regulation, policy, electricity markets or market design.
- Ability to translate complex engineering subjects into clear policy positions.
- Strong communication and stakeholder-management capability.
- Appropriate seniority to operate across technical, regulatory and strategic stakeholders.
