I Company Description

hummingbirds is an independent Nature-based Solutions (NbS) project developer, founded in spring 2022. Our mission is to close the gap between large institutional capital and high-impact field operations by combining capacity building, responsible project development and carbon finance – primarily through greenfield initiatives.

We work to address climate change and biodiversity loss while strengthening local communities and stakeholders. Our portfolio focuses on conservation, forest restoration, sustainable forestry, blue carbon, wetlands and peatlands, and improved clean-cooking solutions. 


What we do

· Originate, develop and finance new NbS projects across global landscapes

· Empower and partner with local projects co-developers through technical support and financing of feasibility stages

· Scale implementation and secure long-term financing, including carbon credit marketing

We are entering a phase of rapid growth (2026 -2028) and are looking for an autonomous and hands-on profile, passionate about nature with strong ethics to drive our communications strategy, strengthen our position in the sector, and support the marketing of our climate positive projects in Europe and developing countries.

Our team of 25 passionate and dedicated collaborators is located half in Europe (Paris) and half overseas (Abidjan, Nairobi, Mexico, São Paulo, Melbourne). We currently have 7 nationalities in the team and over 60% of women.


II Job Description

As a Marketing B2B and Communication Manager, you will have the responsibility to lead hummingbirds’ communication plan across its different platforms and channels, with the aim of advertising our brand and marketing our nature-based projects accordingly to our values.

You will report to our Chief Commercial Officer and work closely with our Commercial department to support the marketing of our portfolio of carbon credits and collaborate cross-functionally with Project Directors and regional Project managers to feature our projects’ impacts on the ground.


1. Brand & Communication

Objective: Strengthen our brand by ensuring every message resonates with our audiences’ needs, expectations, and motivations.

Key Responsibilities

o Develop and implement a company‑wide communication strategy aligned with customer insights, business objectives, and company values.

o Create our “Signature” contents: Client business cases, White papers on carbon/corporate thematics, Articles, interviews, videos to show case our expertise and our capacity to deliver high integrity carbon credit and derisk project

o Define clear messaging and ensure consistency across all channels.

o Monitor communication performance (engagement, sentiment, reach) and adjust strategies based on audience feedback and data.

o Collaborate with internal teams (Chief of Staff, Project Directors, Impact team) to ensure internal and external messages reflect customer expectations and project realities.

o Work with external designers, agencies, and partners to create communication assets

o Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, bloggers, and media outlets to amplify our presence.

o Pitch stories, secure media coverage, and respond to press inquiries in a timely and customer‑focused manner.

o Identify new opportunities (media, partnerships, events, platforms) to increase brand awareness and attract new audiences.

 

 

2. Marketing «Product»

Objective: Translate our mission, projects, and impact into compelling narratives that help customers understand who we are and why we matter.

Key Responsibilities

o Lead and coordinate the creation of high‑quality marketing content (teasers, press releases, blogs, social media posts, website content, reports, videos) that speaks directly to customer needs and motivations.

o Work closely with project teams to design communication strategies for each field trip, adapting messages to the maturity and priorities of each project (interviews, short films, photography).

o Partner with the Commercial team to align marketing priorities with customer expectations and sales needs and objectives

o Ensure all content reflects our brand voice, style, and strategic positioning.

o Review and edit content to maximize clarity, accuracy, and customer impact.

o Manage and optimize our website to ensure content is relevant, up‑to‑date, and SEO‑optimized for customer acquisition.

o Oversee social media presence (LinkedIn, Instagram) to build community engagement and strengthen our brand narrative.

 

3. Go‑to‑Market & Lead Generation — Driving Customer Engagement and Growth

Objective: Increase our visibility, generate qualified leads, and position the company as a trusted voice in our ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

o Implement digital campaigns designed to expand reach, engage audiences, and convert interest into leads.

o Create thematics webinars and round tables

o Plan, coordinate, and execute events (internal seminars, external conferences, afterworks) that strengthen customer relationships and brand credibility.

o Manage event logistics, vendors, budgets, and schedules in collaboration with the HR & Office Manager.

o Position our CEO and key team members in relevant panels, conferences, and thought‑leadership opportunities to increase visibility and trust.

 

III Requirements

The ideal candidate holds a master’s degree in communication or marketing and brings 3–5 years of hands-on experience in marketing B2B and/or communication. Experience in climate impact or nature-based projects is an advantage, but above all, we are looking for someone who is an expert in Marketing B2B, who is pragmatic, and customer centric

They thrive in fast‑growing, entrepreneurial environments, enjoy building things from scratch, and are energized by autonomy, experimentation, and iteration.

They will demonstrate the following skills and mindset:

o Customer‑centric thinking: ability to understand audience needs (clients, prospects, partners, communities) and translate them into clear, impactful messages and actions.

o Pragmatism and execution focus: comfortable prioritizing, simplifying, and delivering high‑quality outputs quickly, even with imperfect information.

o Strong writing, editing, and content creation skills, with the ability to adapt tone and format to different audiences.

o Experience managing social media platforms and website content, with a focus on engagement, clarity, and user experience.

o Proficiency with LinkedIn analytics tools, Sales Navigator and Hupspot.

o Excellent organizational and project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deadlines.

o Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, with a proactive, solution oriented mindset.

o Creativity paired with strategic thinking, capable of proposing ideas grounded in customer insights and business needs.

o Fluency in English and French; Spanish or Portuguese is a plus.

o A good understanding of forestry, agroforestry, agriculture, and/or carbon markets is a plus, but curiosity and the ability to learn quickly matter even more.
