hummingbirds is an independent Nature-based Solutions (NbS) project developer founded in spring 2022. Our mission is to close the gap between large institutional capital and high-impact field operations by combining capacity building, responsible project development, and carbon finance primarily through greenfield initiatives.
We work to address climate change and biodiversity loss while strengthening local communities and stakeholders. Our portfolio focuses on conservation, forest restoration, sustainable forestry, blue carbon, peatlands and wetlands, and improved clean-cooking solutions.
What we do:
• Originate, develop, and finance new NbS projects across global landscapes
• Empower and partner with local project co -developers through capacity building and technical support
• Scale implementation and secure long-term financing, including carbon credit monetization
We are entering a phase of rapid growth (2026 –2028) and are seeking autonomous, entrepreneurial profiles passionate about nature with strong ethics, to commercialize environmental attributes from climate-positive projects in Europe and developing countries with high co-benefits for local communities and biodiversity.
Our diverse team of 30 passionate professionals is based across Europe (Paris, Madrid) and the Global South (Accra,
Nairobi, Mexico City, São Paulo, Melbourne). We represent seven nationalities and are proud to have over 60% women in the organization.
II Job description
The internship is based in Paris. You will join a fast -growing, international, and highly proactive commercial team, with a clear mandate: deploy AI-powered tools and workflows to accelerate our business development on a highvalue, scrutinized niche market.
Our sales and marketing team consists of 5 people: 2 in marketing and communications, 2 in business development
including the intern, and the department head. You will report directly to the business developer manager and work in close collaboration with the marketing team.
III Your main responsibilities
1. AI-powered lead generation
• Design and deploy autonomous AI agents to identify and qualify relevant prospects (corporates, governments, institutional investors) within our specific market.
• Build data enrichment and scraping pipelines to detect buying signals: net -zero commitments, RSE/ESG
reports, sustainability hiring, voluntary carbon market activity.
• Implement automated lead scoring systems to prioritize prospects by maturity and fit with our offering.
2. Automated outbound campaigns
• Design scalable outbound systems using modern automation and AI tooling (eg. The Growth Machine, n8n or
equivalent).
• Integrate AI workflows to personalize sequences based on prospect profile, sector, and detected climate
engagement level.
• Set up and monitor campaign performance KPIs (open rates, reply rates, meeting conversion, pipeline value
generated) and iterate rapidly based on results.
3. Hyper -personalized copywriting
• Write commercial messages tailored to each target segment: CSR leads, CFOs, procurement teams,
government decision-makers.
• Use LLMs (Claude, or equivalent) to generate and refine copy based on each prospect's specific context and
public climate commitments.
• Maintain a high standard of factual accuracy and credibility: our market is under scrutiny and every message
must be defensible.
IV Your secondary projects
1. Personalized prospect decks ahead of meetings
• Produce a tailored prospect deck before each commercial meeting: company context, published climate
strategy, sectoral commitments, identified entry points.
• Partially automate information gathering (annual reports, DPEF/TCFD disclosures, ESG press releases) via AI
research agents.
• Ensure editorial consistency and quality across all produced materials.
2. CRM management and reporting
• Own and maintain the HubSpot CRM: contact data hygiene, pipeline tracking, sequence management, activity
logging.
• Build dashboards and KPI reports to give the commercial team real -time visibility on outbound performance
and pipeline health.
• Propose and implement CRM automation workflows to reduce manual tasks and improve follow -up reliability.
V Requirements
Education:
• Bac+4/5 from a business school, sciences po, engineering school, or any programme combining commercial
acumen with genuine interest in technology.
Technical skills:
• Hands-on proficiency or strong curiosity for AI tools applied to business: LLMs, autonomous agents, no-code/low-code automation tools (Make, Clay, n8n, Zapier or equivalent)
• HubSpot proficiency: pipeline management, sequences, workflows, and reporting. HubSpot certification is a
plus
• Ability to build and test workflows with systematic logic, with or without coding skills
• Comfortable with data and performance metrics; able to design and interpret KPI dashboards.
Commercial and writing skills:
• Excellent written communication in both French and English – copywriting quality is central to this role
• Strong sense of buyer persona and ability to adapt messaging to different stakeholders (sustainability teams,
procurement, legal, C-suite)
• Analytical mindset: comfortable with data, performance indicators, and rapid iteration.
Personal qualities:
• Genuine autonomy and ability to deliver concrete results in an unstructured environment
• Real interest in carbon markets and climate finance, you understand why credibility is non-negotiable in this
market
• Critical thinking: you question what you generate before sending it
• Attracted by young companies with a start-up spirit in strong growth; thirst for adventure and enthusiasm
• Understanding of cultural sensitivities associated with working in an international setting
Languages:
• Fluency in English
• French, Spanish and/or Portuguese are a plus.
