hummingbirds is an independent Nature-based Solutions (NbS) project developer founded in 2022. Our mission is to close the gap between large institutional capital and high-impact field operations by combining capacity building, responsible project development, and carbon finance—primarily through greenfield initiatives.
We work to address climate change and biodiversity loss while strengthening local communities and stakeholders. Our portfolio focuses on conservation, forest restoration, sustainable forestry, blue carbon, peatlands and wetlands, and improved clean-cooking solutions.
What We Do:
· Originate, develop, and finance new NbS projects across global landscapes
· Empower and partner with local project co-developers through capacity building and technical support
· Scale implementation and secure long-term financing, including carbon credit monetization
We are entering a phase of rapid growth (2026–2028) and are seeking entrepreneurial, values-driven leaders to steer our project development and operational teams.

II Job Description
The Financial Analyst Intern position will be based in Paris.
You will join a fast-growing international very proactive team and have the opportunity to be part of an entrepreneurial journey towards a more sustainable future.
Your main contribution will be 1/ to develop financial models for hummingbirds’ portfolio of projects in coordination with the Project Managers, and 2/ to support the fundraising of hummingbirds’ investment vehicles. You will work closely with the Project Managers and Project Directors in the early stages of business development until the investment committee, and with our Project Finance team for the fundraising part. You will play a key role in the successful delivery of high-quality carbon projects with robust financials.
You will report to the Chief Financial Officer and work cross-functionally with the senior management team of the company for all cross-functions (sales, carbon, E&S and Impact).
As Financial Analyst, you will have the opportunity to lead and contribute to:
Project Finance
Financial modeling: run the modeling of several typologies of Nature-based Solutions projects (Afforestation, cookstoves, REDD+, AWD, etc.) across the globe in support to our Projects Managers.
Investment process: contribute to preparing all the documents and presentations and participate in the decision-making process validating new investments alongside our financial partners (private and institutional investors).
Deal execution: assist our team to execute the transactions from the due diligence to the closing participating to the negotiation always in an international context with the support of the third-party advisors.
Asset management: provide support in the monitoring of our portfolio of projects in operation and the reporting to be presented to our shareholders (Development Finance Institutions and private investors).
Methodology: ensure the continuous improvement of our internal business plan template and develop additional tools (mainly in Excel)
Fundraising support
Following several successful fundraising campaigns (€10m in 2022, €50m in 2026), contribute to the growth of carbon finance by structuring new fundraising initiatives for hummingbirds and the Nature-based Solutions market as a whole.
Pitch: help develop fundraising materials (teaser, IM, and financial model) for these new fundraising rounds, and engage with international investors in the sector, including DFIs (Development Finance Institutions), banks, investment funds, family offices, and corporate investors.
Investment process: Act as the liaison between internal teams and investors by organizing datarooms, managing Q&A responses, negotiating terms and conditions, supporting the closing of fundraising rounds.
III Required Qualifications & Experience
The ideal candidates will have an outstanding academic track record from a recognized school or university from which will have obtained a Master 2 degree (or equivalent) and have followed a financial curriculum. They will have strong ethics and an impact-driven mindset to deliver high quality projects biodiversity and community centered.
Previous exposure to corporate finance (M&A and project finance) in an international environment is a plus.
