About the Project

Holcim Belgium is leading the GO4ZERO project, an ambitious initiative aimed at significantly reducing CO₂ emissions and accelerating the transition towards more sustainable construction.

As part of this strategic project, Holcim Belgium is developing a large-scale Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) value chain, covering:

  • CO₂ capture
  • Transmission & transport
  • Terminal operations
  • Permanent storage

To support this key decarbonisation initiative, we are looking for a CCS Project Manager – Commercial & Contractual Focus to oversee the project's strategic, financial, and contractual dimensions.


Mission

As CCS Project Manager, you will oversee the full CCS project while taking a leading role in its commercial, contractual, financial, and stakeholder-related dimensions.

You will play a key role in:

  • Coordinating with internal teams, industrial partners, public authorities, and external stakeholders
  • Securing the complete CCS value chain
  • Mitigating project risks to ensure successful implementation

In this position, you will report directly to the Program Director.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commercial Negotiations: Lead and coordinate negotiations with strategic partners across the entire CCS value chain (capture, transmission, storage).
  • Contractual Frameworks: Structure, finalize, and monitor long-term commercial and contractual agreements.
  • Funding & Subsidies: Support the project's funding strategy, including mechanisms such as Carbon Contracts for Difference (CCfDs) and public subsidy programs.
  • Financial Modelling: Contribute to business case modelling, financial structuring, and the preparation of investment files.
  • Risk Management: Identify commercial, financial, contractual, and regulatory risks and implement effective mitigation measures.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with public authorities, EU and local institutions, industry associations, and value chain partners.
  • Advocacy & Lobbying: Support lobbying efforts to establish favorable regulatory and commercial conditions for the CCS project.
  • Project Governance: Monitor milestones, budget, timing, risks, and deliverables.
  • Operational Alignment: Ensure alignment between contractual obligations, project milestones, and operational constraints.
  • Reporting: Report regularly to the Program Director on project progress, risk exposure, and strategic decisions.


Profile & Qualifications

  • Education: Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, Finance, Law, or a related field.
  • Experience: Solid track record in complex industrial, infrastructure, energy, carbon management, or decarbonisation projects.
  • Contractual Expertise: Strong expertise in commercial negotiations and long-term contractual frameworks.
  • Public Funding & Affairs: Practical familiarity with public funding, subsidy mechanisms, government relations, or advocacy.
  • Domain Knowledge: Understanding of CCS, CCfDs, EU funding mechanisms, carbon markets, or industrial decarbonisation is a strong asset.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical capabilities with hands-on experience in business case modelling.
  • Strategic Vision: Ability to grasp technical project constraints while maintaining a sharp focus on commercial, financial, and strategic risks.
  • Communication: Outstanding stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
  • Languages: Fluent in English. Knowledge of French and/or Dutch is an asset.
