The opportunity

Passionate about sustainability, community connection and practical climate action? This is a unique opportunity to lead My Smart Garden, a well established, multi‑council program that supports residents to create productive, climate resilient gardens that save water, reduce emissions and build community wellbeing. Working closely with partner councils and local households, you’ll shape and deliver engaging workshops, resources and events, manage program delivery and partnerships, and track meaningful environmental outcomes.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Leading the planning, delivery and continuous improvement of the My Smart Garden program for Hobsons Bay
  • Coordinating workshops, events, contractors and participating households
  • Building strong partnerships with council partners, community members and internal stakeholders
  • Developing engaging program resources, promotional materials and web‑based content
  • Collecting, analysing and reporting on qualitative and quantitative program data, including environmental outcomes

What You'll Need To Succeed

  • Experience in project delivery, community programs, sustainability, education or a related field
  • A tertiary qualification in environmental, social, education, horticultural or related disciplines or equivalent relevant experience
  • Skills in community engagement, facilitation, partnerships and stakeholder liaison
  • Experience collecting, analysing and reporting on program or project data
  • A genuine interest in climate action, sustainable living and supporting positive community change

Pre-Employment Requirements

Progressed candidates will be required to complete a National Police Record Check & a Working With Children Check (WWCC).

Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa with full unrestricted working rights. Work eligibility will be checked as part of the recruitment process.
