About the role

We have a brand-new opportunity for a Principal Public Health Engineer to join our team based in our London office.

It’s an exciting time to join our team. We have a well-established reputation for delivering outstanding design on built environment projects across London and beyond. Working alongside a range of specialist engineers and consultants, you will join a collaborative, knowledgeable, highly engaged team who love what they do and offer a supportive, flexible, and high-performing work culture.

As a Principal Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting and delivering designs for a range of project types and sizes. You will work within a multidisciplinary team of engineers and consultants delivering design solutions of the highest standard for our clients, while securing repeat and new business opportunities. A critical aspect of this role is to support and develop a team of technically competent, collaborative, and highly engaged team members.

In this key and varied role, you can expect to:

• Be responsible for the day-to-day technical delivery of public health design services for multi-disciplinary projects across a number of building sectors.
• Lead the development of initial strategic concepts for projects, ensuring solutions are appropriate for the brief and regulatory standards.
• Interact regularly with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring a communicative, collaborative, and timely approach to delivery.
• Attend project meetings and disseminate/translate the brief within the project team.
• Work with the team leader to help monitor fee expenditure, resources, and work delivered.
• Mentor and support our next-generation professionals, including apprentices and graduates.

About you

To be successful in this role you’ll need:

• Proven experience working as a Public Health Engineer or in a closely related role, with a track record of delivering a variety of complex projects.
• Understanding of all drainage services, including rainwater, domestic water services and fire suppression.
• Use of relevant software/tools such as Revit and AutoCAD.
• Self-awareness, an open mind, and a spirit of generosity.
• Conversant with relevant British Standards.
• Consultancy experience.
