The opportunity
We are now looking for a Sales Specialist at Hitachi Energy, Grid Integration business in Norway. You will take part of an exciting journey with interesting challenges and opportunities along the way. Right now, there is a big transition in the energy landscape where technology and climate change are big drivers. At the same time Hitachi Energy is transforming with the market and driving new business models. Our clients are based in Norway but also abroad, giving diverse tasks but also a need to be able to understand how we deliver value to a wide range of clients and segments.
The role is similar to that of a project manager, as each bid is organized as a project. You will lead a sales or bid team assembled for each project and manage the process from customer inquiry to finalized contract. The work requires strong communication skills and technical understanding, as well as an enjoyment of varied tasks and a fast‑paced environment. The position reports to the Marketing & Sales Manager for the unit in Norway and is part of a larger team of sales and bid managers.

How You'll Make An Impact
- Take charge of major sales opportunities by guiding Capture Teams, leveraging support from a local- and global network of professionals to ensure successful outcomes.
- Engage with customers to understand their needs and develop tailored solutions that address their requirements.
- Lead bid/tender teams in preparing project proposals (including technical and commercial documentation), both within and outside public procurement regulations.
- Calculate pricing, define interfaces, and assess risk.
- Negotiate and finalize contracts with customers.
- Keeping internal/external stakeholders informed and engaged.
- Be a role model for a learning and positive team culture.
- You are a driven and self-motivated person with excellent communication skills and ability to engage stakeholders and create tight long-lasting relationships.
- You preferably hold a degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or similar.
- Experience from key customer segments e.g. Utilities, Industry, Data Centers, Transport or Renewables is a plus.
- Ability to solve problems and think outside the box to achieve the best results.
- Leadership experience, (Manager, PM or similar).
- You are organized, systematic and able to work against deadlines and within different processes.
- Good communication skills in Norwegian and English.
