Electrical Project Engineer - Renewable Energy
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to support large-scale renewable energy projects , including wind and solar generation facilities. This role will provide electrical engineering support throughout the project lifecycle, from design review and construction support through commissioning and project completion.
The ideal candidate will have experience working on utility-scale renewable energy, power generation, or large infrastructure projects and be comfortable working in both office and field environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and evaluate engineering drawings, submittals, and technical documentation.
- Manage and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs) and Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
- Ensure construction activities align with approved engineering designs and project specifications.
- Provide on-site engineering support during construction and commissioning activities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve design conflicts, technical issues, and field-related challenges.
- Coordinate with EPC contractors, equipment suppliers, project managers, construction teams, and inspectors.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including operations, environmental, land rights, and supply chain teams.
- Support regulatory compliance efforts and project documentation requirements.
- Track project progress and communicate technical updates to project stakeholders
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited preferred).
- Minimum 3 years of electrical engineering experience.
- 2–3 years of experience supporting renewable energy projects such as wind, solar, or other power generation facilities.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, design interpretation, and construction documentation.
- Experience managing RFIs and NCRs.
- Experience supporting construction activities and coordinating between engineering and field teams.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) License or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
- Experience working with utility companies, EPC contractors, or engineering consulting firms.
- Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure, energy, or power generation projects.
- Familiarity with:
- ProjectWise
- Procore
- Bluebeam
- SAP (preferred but not required)
Work Environment
- Hybrid role combining remote work and field assignments.
- Expected onsite presence of 4–5 days per week during active construction phases.
- Travel to project sites required.
