The Interim Compliance Analyst, Energy & Environment EMEA (Maternity Cover) is responsible for ensuring that all compliance requirements are met on behalf of Hilton, Owners, and Landlords across UK and EMEA centrally managed schemes.


This role analyses the requirements and ensures internal and external governance processes are in place and followed. Responsibilities include developing clear communication and training materials, working with hotels to ensure compliance requirements are understood and met, and providing relevant compliance reporting to the business. The role also supports the delivery of tools that enable personal development of hotel-based engineering teams, as required.


General Responsibilities Cover (but Are Not Limited To)

  • Analyse legislative and scheme requirements, collate required information, and manage accurate and timely submissions on behalf of Hilton, Owners, and Landlords across all centrally managed UK/EMEA compliance schemes.
  • Act as a central point of support for Owners, Landlords, Regional Engineering Specialists (RES), and hotels, providing clear guidance on compliance information and requirements.
  • Coordinate the collection of data and the deployment of policies, operating procedures, training, and support tools required to meet external legislation and internal governance requirements across EMEA.
  • Manage and control compliance-related invoicing processes, including audit, approval, query resolution, and reconciliation, in partnership with Finance and external partners.
  • Deliver regular compliance reporting, performance insights, analysis, and forward-looking compliance plans to area management and key stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate records in line with defined retention schedules.
  • Support the Director, Energy & Compliance EMEA, and Senior Directors of Engineering Operations EMEA as required.


This is a hybrid position and occasional EMEA travel may be required.


Position Summary


What will I be doing?


Planning and Organizing Activities (20%)

  • Execute annual compliance plans and schedules, ensuring all relevant stakeholders are informed and aligned.
  • Coordinate and schedule relevant meetings and activities.
  • Support the strategic direction of EMEA Engineering Operations.


Analysing and Development Activities (30%)

  • Collect, analyse and manage compliance data from internal and external stakeholders, ensuring accurate and timely submissions.
  • Support the development and rollout of policies, operating procedures, training and tools required to meet legislative and internal compliance requirements.
  • Provide compliance support and documentation to Owners and Landlords.
  • Produce regular business reports, insights, analysis and compliance plans for area management and stakeholders.


Controlling and Executing Activities (30%)

  • Manage compliance processes, consultants, training, and reporting requirements across UK centrally managed schemes, including but not limited to packaging waste, asbestos-containing materials, fuel oil tanks, used cooking oil, SECR, ESOS, Energy Performance Certificates, TM44 compliance and Legionella training.
  • Monitor existing and emerging legislation in partnership with external advisors, assess impacts and support the development, implementation, and enforcement of internal procedures, and compliance plans.
  • Maintain accurate compliance records in line with defined retention and audit requirements.
  • Manage compliance-related invoicing, including audit, approval, reconciliation and issue resolution, in partnership with Finance and external partners.


Communication Activities (20%)

  • Create and manage compliance communications, documentation, and dissemination channels to support area and departmental objectives.
  • Deliver legislative communication and training materials and manage liaison with relevant authorities where required.
  • Enable the sharing of best practices and continuous improvement across key business functions.


Supportive Functions

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.


  • Provide support for Director of Energy & Compliance EMEA, Senior Director Energy & Environment and wider Energy and Environment and Engineering Operations EMEA team as required
  • Provide data collation support for selected owners and landlords
  • Any and all other job duties as assigned

Required Qualifications


To fulfill this role successfully, you must possess the following minimum qualifications and experience:

  • Proven relevant Corporate experience required.
  • Experience of supporting compliance requirements and data sourcing and validation within the multi-ownership, multi stakeholder structures.
  • Excellent skills in time management, planning, organisation and coordination across large audiences and with strict deadlines for delivery with ability to prioritise work and be flexible to change their activities to reflect the key business need at that moment in time.
  • The individual must be able to converse at a good level, with excellent communication skills: presentation, written and public speaking.
  • Ability to collaborate among cross-functional teams including external resources.
  • Ability to collate, analyse and present complex data sets, providing high level of attention to detail and problem-solving approach.
  • Demonstrates the highest standards of ethical behaviour and absolute discretion with sensitive information.
  • Pro-active, self-motivated individual, with ability to work independently, on own initiative and taking ownership of responsibilities, but also a team player, resilient and positive.
  • Ability to prioritise work and be flexible to change their activities to reflect the key business need at that moment in time.
  • Computer literate with excellent IT skills – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, e-mail, internet, etc...


Preferred Qualifications


It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:

  • Previous experience of managing area level, multi-stakeholder projects or events with strict deadlines and budgets.
  • Experience in lieu in project management.
  • Previous experience of utility data management cradle-to-grave process.
