Purpose
Hikma Pharmaceuticals is seeking an experienced UK/EU ESG Reporting & Legislation Manager to lead the Group's sustainability reporting and regulatory compliance activities globally with a strong focus on the UK and Europe reflecting our listing location.
This role will ensure the organisation remains compliant with evolving ESG legislation while delivering high-quality, transparent sustainability disclosures that helps our stakeholders understand our performance and supports Hikma's purpose of improving people's health through access to high-quality medicines.
Working across a highly regulated pharmaceutical environment, the successful candidate will partner with Finance, Legal, Compliance, Quality, Manufacturing, Procurement, Supply Chain, HR, Investor Relations and regional business leaders to strengthen ESG governance, improve sustainability data quality and implement emerging UK and EU sustainability legislation.
The role will also support the integration of sustainability considerations into business decision-making, helping to enhance operational resilience, stakeholder confidence and long-term value creation.

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
ESG Reporting & Disclosure
- Lead the preparation and delivery of Hikma's annual ESG and sustainability reporting, ensuring compliance with global standards, but particularly focussed on UK and EU reporting requirements.
- Coordinate the collection, validation and governance of ESG data across manufacturing sites, commercial operations and corporate functions.
- Ensure disclosures align with:
- UK Sustainability Reporting Standards (UK SRS)
- IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards (IFRS S1 and IFRS S2)
- Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD)
- European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS)
- EU Taxonomy Regulation
- Other relevant mandatory and voluntary sustainability reporting frameworks.
- Support Finance with the integration of sustainability disclosures into the Annual Report and Accounts.
- Manage external assurance activities, ensuring robust governance, controls and audit readiness.
- Drive the development and implementation of new ESG reporting system, processes and internal controls.
- Monitor, interpret and communicate emerging UK and EU ESG legislation relevant to the pharmaceutical sector.
- Lead ESG legislative horizon scanning and assess the impact of regulatory developments on Hikma's operations and supply chain.
- Develop implementation plans for new reporting and due diligence requirements.
- Provide technical advice on:
- UK SRS
- IFRS S1 and S2
- CSRD and ESRS
- EU Taxonomy
- Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD)
- Climate-related disclosure requirements
- Human rights and environmental due diligence
- Supply chain sustainability obligations.
- Partner with Legal, Compliance and Risk teams to ensure regulatory obligations are embedded into corporate policies and operational processes.
- Support the development and maintenance of Hikma's ESG governance framework.
- Prepare reports and updates for Executive Leadership, Board Committees and senior management.
- Maintain ESG policies, procedures and reporting controls.
- Identify regulatory and reporting risks and develop appropriate mitigation plans.
- Support internal and external audits relating to ESG disclosures.
- Build strong working relationships across Sustainability, Finance, Legal, Compliance, Quality, Manufacturing, Procurement, Supply Chain, HR, Investor Relations and regional leadership teams.
- Support manufacturing and operational teams in implementing sustainability reporting requirements.
- Collaborate with Procurement to strengthen supplier ESG data collection and due diligence processes.
- Respond to ESG information requests from investors, customers, regulators and external rating agencies.
- Support implementation of ESG reporting technology and digital reporting solutions.
- Promote a culture of transparency, compliance and continuous improvement.
Experience & Qualifications
- Significant experience in ESG reporting, sustainability compliance or ESG regulatory affairs with a strong focus on UK and EU requirements.
- Experience within a highly regulated industry, ideally pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, healthcare, life sciences or medical devices.
- Strong working knowledge of:
- UK Sustainability Reporting Standards (UK SRS)
- IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards (IFRS S1 and IFRS S2)
- Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD)
- European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS)
- EU Taxonomy Regulation
- Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD).
- Experience with ESG reporting systems and sustainability data management platforms.
- Experience implementing regulatory change programmes across multiple jurisdictions.
- Strong understanding of governance, risk management and internal controls.
- Experience supporting external assurance and audit activities.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and project management skills.
- Degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Finance, Law, Business or a related discipline.
- Experience within a UK listed company, ideally global pharmaceutical manufacturing or supply chain operations.
- Understanding of environmental compliance within manufacturing environments, including carbon emissions, waste, water stewardship and responsible sourcing.
- Strong legislative interpretation and regulatory analysis.
- Excellent written communication and report writing.
- Ability to translate complex legislation into practical business actions.
- High attention to detail and commitment to data integrity.
- Commercial awareness within a regulated pharmaceutical environment.
- Strategic thinking with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Strong collaboration and influencing skills across global, cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced international environment.
- Deliver compliant, high-quality ESG disclosures aligned with UK SRS, IFRS S1/S2, CSRD, ESRS and EU Taxonomy requirements.
- Establish an effective legislative horizon-scanning programme to anticipate emerging UK and EU ESG requirements.
- Successfully implement CSDDD and other applicable sustainability regulations across relevant business functions.
- Enhance ESG governance, reporting controls and data quality across the Group.
- Build trusted partnerships with Finance, Legal, Compliance, Manufacturing and Supply Chain teams.
- Support successful external assurance outcomes and contribute to Hikma's reputation as a responsible global pharmaceutical company.
