POSITION SUMMARY

Proficiency in GIS software with the ability to manipulate, analyze, and visualize spatial data using GIS tools and functionalities and experience in creating data, layers, and maps within the digital spatial environment. Experience in cartographic design is appreciated
An exceptional ability to balance hard skills (timelines, site plans, engineering studies, legal compliance, local planning codes, etc) with soft skills, translating complex technical realities into terms appropriate for any given audience
High level of self-awareness and humility, with excitement about confronting uncomfortable situations or new challenges
Excellent spatial awareness and ability to read, interpret, and produce maps, narratives, and plans for a variety of situations
Ability to lead teams—both internal and external—in the development of project materials, timelines, and deliverables
Ability to prioritize work, recognizing opportunity costs to each decision; there is more to do than can be done, so what is most important and valuable?
Able to keep the end goal in mind and prioritize actions to that end; not distracted
Ideal candidates will have, at a minimum, 2-5+ years of relevant industry experience with a strong preference for renewable energy development (real estate or infrastructure development, project finance, management consulting, or strong operational leadership experience is a plus).
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Utilize GIS and database tools to identify project opportunities and generate landowner outreach materials
Manage project interconnection process with the Development Engineering team
Select and manage consultants to support permitting efforts, including local legal, engineering, and environmental experts
Assist the Finance team with the evaluation of project taxes and lead abatement negotiations
Travel requirement – up to 50%, often on short notice
SKILLS
Strong research and writing skills
Communication skills-ability to converse with laymen, elected officials, and experts with equal ease
Comfort with speaking to large audiences and the press
