Project Manager (Engineering) Hybrid

We are seeking a Project Manager to oversee energy efficiency initiatives within a major New Jersey utility program. This is a high-impact role supporting energy efficiency projects aligned with Board of Public Utilities (BPU) approved programs. Job Summary The Project Manager will provide program management oversight of scope, schedule, and budget for energy efficiency projects. This individual will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal procedures while maintaining strong vendor and customer relationships. Projects may include installation of energy conservation measures such as HVAC systems, lighting upgrades, motors, and energy management systems. Key Responsibilities Provide oversight of project scope, schedule, and budget in compliance with BPU Orders and company procedures Ensure projects meet all program requirements, including cost-effectiveness standards Develop and maintain implementation processes for energy efficiency programs Interface with internal associates, vendors, customers, and consultants to ensure regulatory and reporting compliance Coordinate and direct vendor and contractor activities Review vendor deliverables and process milestone-based invoices Perform and oversee QA/QC activities Conduct site visits as required Compile and analyze project data for management reporting Provide monthly status updates and financial forecasts Ensure vendor and employee compliance with safety protocols Support storm restoration efforts when required Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field plus 5 years of experience in energy efficiency, construction, or related industry OR 9 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree Experience managing construction budgets and milestone-based payments Knowledge of energy efficiency measures and cost-effectiveness frameworks Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) Experience working in regulated utility environments preferred Ability to travel within New Jersey utility territory Preferred Qualifications Vendor management experience Building Performance Institute (BPI) Certification Certified Energy Manager (CEM) Benefits: Health Insurance Sick time 401k Pay Range: $80.00 - $100.00 per hour (Depending on experience and qualifications) By applying for this job, you agree to receive calls, AI-generated calls, text messages, or emails from HEPCO, Inc and its affiliates, and contracted partners.
