HEPCO Inc. is seeking a Energy Efficiency Projects Lead - Energy Efficiency Specialist to oversee the execution of energy efficiency initiatives within a regulated utility environment. This role will manage program scope, schedule, and budget while ensuring compliance with BPU Orders, PSEG procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in energy efficiency programs, construction project oversight, vendor management, and regulatory compliance, along with knowledge of energy conservation measures (ECMs). Key Responsibilities: Manage program scope, schedule, and budget for energy efficiency projects Ensure compliance with BPU requirements, PSEG procedures, and program cost-effectiveness standards Develop and maintain processes for implementation of BPU-approved programs Interface with internal stakeholders, vendors, customers, and consultants Perform and oversee QA/QC for programs and projects Apply knowledge of ECMs (HVAC, lighting, motors, energy management systems, etc.) Manage customer relationships and ensure high satisfaction Coordinate and direct vendor/contractor activities Review vendor deliverables, monitor performance, and process invoices Ensure compliance with safety standards and protocols Compile and analyze project data for reporting and forecasting Provide monthly status reports and financial forecasts Conduct site visits and inspections as required Support storm restoration efforts as needed Assist with special projects and ad hoc assignments Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree 5 years of experience in energy efficiency programs, construction, or related field OR 9 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree Experience with milestone-based construction payments and financial forecasting Strong knowledge of energy efficiency measures (ECMs) and implementation strategies Knowledge of PSEG CEF Energy Efficiency Order and NJ Cost Test frameworks Vendor management and invoicing experience Strong communication skills (written and verbal) Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) Strong attention to detail and process improvement mindset Ability to work independently within structured compliance environments Willingness to travel within PSE&G territory Valid U.S. Driver's License & reliable transportation (REQUIRED) Preferred Qualifications: Building Performance Institute (BPI) Certification Certified Energy Manager (CEM) Additional Information: Hybrid schedule: Remote (Mon/Fri), Onsite (Tues–Thurs) in Newark, NJ Occasional field/site inspections (approx. 1x/month) May require schedule flexibility during storm restoration events Benefits: Health Insurance Sick time 401k Pay Range: $85.00 - $95.00 per hour (Depending on experience and qualifications) By applying for this job, you agree to receive calls, AI-generated calls, text messages, or emails from HEPCO, Inc and its affiliates, and contracted partners.
