We are seeking an Energy Efficiency Adviser to join our client’s team. This role is for a New Jersey resident who is passionate about sustainability and enjoys building relationships with customers and trade allies.Job Description
The Energy Efficiency Adviser is responsible for outreach and education activities to promote the energy efficiency program directed at end customers, contractors, manufacturers, distributors, engineers, architects, and others who provide energy efficiency equipment or services.
Responsibilities
• Foster relationships with trade allies to maximize the number and size of submitted projects

  • Develop projects directly with customers
  • Represent the program at industry events on behalf of TRC and the client
  • Learn and utilize CRM database for project and lead management
  • Cultivate, track, and manage program leads diligently
  • Oversee projects submitted by customers/trade allies
  • Collaborate with a Project Coordinator to gather required information/documentation for project approval and closeout
  • Validate and review project workbooks, ensuring technical accuracy and adjusting based on scope changes or inspections
  • Place outbound calls to new and existing customers to meet assigned energy saving targets
  • Manage field time effectively with customer or trade ally visits
  • Develop and deliver program presentations to encourage project activity
  • Respond to customer inquiries and concerns by phone, electronically, or in person to move projects forward
  • Work with building owners, property managers, and/or facility engineers to provide energy efficiency guidance and assistance in program participation
  • Develop a strong understanding of the program’s strategic direction and the business activities of customers
  • Identify on-site opportunities for energy efficiency, provide documentation, and follow up as required
  • Discuss technical elements of energy-consuming equipment such as lighting, HVAC, and hot water systems
  • Enter data into spreadsheets and databases to determine energy savings and manage projects, including collaboration with Energy Engineers as needed
  • Maintain professional appearance as a representative of the organization and the utility
  • Build rapport with customers and trade allies, initiating on-site conversations regarding energy usage

    • Ability to interpret technical jargon and communicate effectively with diverse audiences
  • Problem-solving skills with creativity and attention to detail
  • Team player with a positive attitude and ability to collaborate with multiple teams
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time, including occasional overnight trips
  • Ability to perform physical activity during site visits (standing, walking, climbing, kneeling, etc.) with exposure to indoor/outdoor conditions and varying temperatures
  • Adherence to safety and health policies during field work
  • Reliable transportation for travel within client territory
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
    Preferred Skills
    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or equivalent
  • Certified Energy Auditor (Commercial) designation
  • Experience in commercial or industrial energy efficiency, technical sales, B2B, or construction industry sales
    Experience & Education Minimums
    • B.A. or B.S. in Business or Technical field, or 5+ years’ experience in sales, account management, or related field
  • At least 1 year of experience working with energy efficiency or energy-efficient products for a utility, government, non-profit, or public agency

Pay Range: $31.25 - $36.05 per hour (Depending on experience and qualifications)
