The Energy Efficiency Adviser is responsible for outreach and education activities to promote energy efficiency programs to end customers, contractors, manufacturers, distributors, engineers, architects, and others who provide energy-efficient equipment or services. Foster relationships with trade allies to maximize the number and size of submitted projects Develop projects directly with customers Represent the program at industry events Learn and utilize CRM tools for project and lead management Cultivate, track, and manage program leads Oversee projects submitted by customers and trade allies Partner with a Project Coordinator to gather required documentation for project approval and closeout Review and validate project workbooks, ensuring technical accuracy and adjusting for scope changes or inspections Conduct outbound outreach to meet assigned energy savings targets Manage field time effectively through customer and trade ally visits Develop and deliver presentations to drive program participation Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, or in person to move projects forward Work with building owners, property managers, and facility engineers to provide energy efficiency guidance Develop a strong understanding of program goals and customer business needs Identify on-site energy efficiency opportunities and provide follow-up support Discuss technical aspects of energy-consuming equipment such as lighting, HVAC, and hot water systems Maintain accurate data in spreadsheets and databases to track energy savings and project progress Maintain a professional appearance when representing the organization and utility Build strong rapport with customers and initiate conversations regarding energy usage Provide written reports to customers and program leadership as required Collaborate with team members to support continuous improvement efforts Job Skills Ability to translate technical concepts into clear, understandable language Strong ability to manage a high volume of clients and stakeholders Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Positive, team-oriented mindset Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Willingness to travel up to 50%, including occasional overnight travel Ability to perform field work, including standing, walking, climbing, and kneeling for extended periods Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments, including varying weather conditions Must follow all safety and health protocols during site visits Reliable transportation required for travel within the assigned territory Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record Preferred Skills Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or related field Certified Energy Auditor (Commercial) designation Experience in commercial or industrial energy efficiency, technical sales, B2B, or construction-related sales Experience & Education Minimums Bachelor’s degree in Business or a technical field, or 5+ years of relevant experience in sales, account management, or similar roles At least 1 year of experience working with energy efficiency programs or products within a utility, government, non-profit, or public agency Benefits: Health Insurance PTO 401k Pay Range: $32.00 - $36.00 per hour (Depending on experience and qualifications) By applying for this job, you agree to receive calls, AI-generated calls, text messages, or emails from HEPCO, Inc and its affiliates, and contracted partners.
