New Mandate - Investment Associate | Climate Finance & Impact Investing

Location: New York City (Hybrid, 3 days in-office)


The Mandate

We have a new mandate with a leading philanthropic investment organization dedicated to addressing climate finance bottlenecks in emerging economies. By directing catalytic capital toward commercially oriented local investment managers, this fund scales green businesses and builds vital climate infrastructure. All investment returns are recycled directly back into the charitable mission to compound impact over time.


This is a unique opportunity to join a high performing team of approximately 20 professionals, backed by some of the world's foremost climate funders. You will play a central role in developing catalytic climate investment strategies and fund concepts across Africa, India, Southeast Asia, and Latin America & the Caribbean.


Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate & Execute: Source, architect, evaluate, and advance select catalytic climate related fund investments and partnerships in emerging markets.
  • Analyze: Conduct rigorous market research, landscaping, underlying company assessments, alongside deep financial and technical analyses.
  • Collaborate: Build and maintain strategic relationships with external partners, including potential backed investment managers (GPs), co-investors (LPs), project developers, and technical partners.
  • Monitor: Support the monitoring, evaluation, and performance of existing investments, providing actionable insights for improvement and growth.
  • Innovate: Help deepen the core thesis for creating distinctive impact in the field of climate finance, contributing to global thought leadership.


Your Profile

  • Experience: 2–4 years of professional experience in investment advisory, banking, private equity, impact investing, development finance, climate or development policy, climate technology, or ESG.
  • Knowledge: Demonstrated passion for, or background in, and knowledge of, emerging markets, market-based solutions, and global climate action.
  • Analytical Rigor: Sound quantitative and analytical skills, including high proficiency in financial modeling and Excel.
  • Execution: Strong conceptual problem solving skills, paired with the ability to take complex, ambiguous ideas and drive toward concrete, actionable outcomes.
  • Working Style: A low ego, highly collaborative team player who thrives in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment and operates effectively within uncertainty.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree required.
