As a Simulator Software Engineer, you aren't just writing code; you are creating a digital twin of a nuclear control room. This role demands a blend of rigorous engineering principles and advanced software development to ensure the safety and reliability of the nation's clean energy grid.
The Role
• Develop and modify high-fidelity simulation software logic and dynamic models for the Quad Cities Nuclear Power Station Main Control Room Simulator.
• Lead software configuration management using GIT to ensure version control and system integrity across complex simulation environments.
• Architect and implement software interface protocols and network topologies to connect simulator hardware with real-time software models.
• Stay hands-on with the full development lifecycle, from gathering requirements with training departments to peer code reviews and final system integration.
• Maintain and optimize Windows Operating Systems and associated hardware interfaces to ensure zero-latency simulation performance.
What You'll Need
• Strong technical foundation with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Nuclear, or Electrical preferred) and 2-5+ years of software experience.
• Expert-level proficiency in FORTRAN and C programming languages within a Windows/Visual Studio environment.
• Proven experience with engineering print reading and the ability to translate physical plant modifications into software logic.
• Hands-on experience with GIT for configuration management and familiarity with advanced data structures and algorithms.
• The ability to obtain and maintain unescorted access to a nuclear power facility, requiring a high degree of professional integrity.
