Your new organisation
You’ll be joining a major NSW Government department with responsibility for driving environmental protection, climate change action, energy transition and sustainable water management across the state. The department works closely with communities, industry and other government agencies to deliver long‑term policy outcomes that support a sustainable and resilient NSW.
This opportunity sits within a high‑profile division responsible for strategic policy development and cross‑government coordination, supporting senior executives on complex and time‑sensitive matters. You’ll be working in a professional, fast‑paced environment where accuracy, sound judgement and strong stakeholder engagement are essential.
Your new role
Reporting to a Senior Advisor, you will provide divisional coordination and advice to support strategic policy development, project delivery and executive workflows. The role requires strong organisational capability, the ability to manage competing priorities, and confidence operating in a high‑volume and often sensitive environment.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Managing a high‑volume shared mailbox, coordinating and allocating incoming requests
- Maintaining effective administrative systems to ensure information is timely, accurate and compliant
- Coordinating briefing, correspondence and parliamentary‑style requests across the division
- Providing timely analysis and advice on strategic policy issues, including coordinating cross‑divisional input
- Liaising with key internal and external stakeholders on policy and project development and status
- Supporting workflow and records management processes and promoting best practice
- Preparing a range of briefs, reports, status updates and discussion papers as required
What you’ll need to succeed
You will be an experienced coordinator who can work independently, exercise sound judgement and communicate confidently with senior stakeholders.
You will bring:
- Demonstrated experience managing shared inboxes or mailbox coordination in a high‑volume environment
- Strong attention to detail, time management and organisational skills
- The ability to prioritise work independently and manage competing deadlines
- Well‑developed critical thinking and problem‑solving skills, with the capacity to handle complex and sensitive issues
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience engaging a diverse range of stakeholders
- Experience in policy, project coordination or ministerial/government environments (highly regarded)
