PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Our Solar Journeyman Electrician reviews solar plans and executes for our Commercial Division. Being part of a team of solar installers, the Solar Journeyman leads the crew and mentors apprentices in a sound electrical layout and installation. You must maintain a deep understanding of building code regulations to check and ensure compliance with the highest standards of building design and construction. Success in this role will be demonstrated by employing effective process controls to ensure the reliability, safety, and efficient installation and maintenance of electrical systems.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Install panel boards, transformers and SES's for Commercial Solar Projects
  • Experience doing underground conduit installation to include layout
  • Ensure electrical work performed is pristine workmanship and compliant with the current National Electrical Code (NEC) as well as other relevant local codes.
  • Train, mentor and develop apprentices
  • Proper wiring means and methods
  • Identify, troubleshoot, terminate electrical circuits

FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 1-2 years of Solar Electrical Experience
  • Strong conduit bending skills
  • Ability to lift and/or carry up to 75 lbs. unassisted
  • OSHA 10 Certification (OSHA 30 Preferred)
    • or ability to obtain within 60 months

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull and reach over head
  • Constantly moving on your feet
  • Climb ladders (all types)
  • Able to follow guidance from lead person or foreman
  • Perform work in neat, workmanlike manner
  • Keep work area clean and clear of safety hazards
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers
  • Able to follow all required safety protocols and procedures
  • Willing to learn and to pass your knowledge on to others
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week or more if required
