SHEQ Advisor - Remote
Must be able to travel between Manchester & Eastbourne
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000

Our client is a respected and rapidly expanding civils & renewable energy contractor delivering high-quality infrastructure and energy projects across the UK. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced SHEQ Advisor to support the delivery of industry-leading health, safety, environmental and quality standards throughout the business
Working closely with the SHEQ Manager and project delivery teams, you will play a key role in maintaining compliance, improving processes and promoting best practice across a diverse portfolio of renewable energy projects
This is a predominantly field-based position, with regular site visits (typically 3-4 days per week), 1 day working from home

Key Responsibilities
- Support the ongoing management and continual improvement of the company's SHEQ management systems
- Review project health, safety and environmental documentation as part of the project approval process
- Conduct specialist assessments where suitably qualified and competent, including:
- Fire Risk Assessments
- COSHH Assessments
- Environmental Assessments
- Lifting Operations Assessments
- Undertake desktop and compliance audits to ensure project teams maintain required standards and documentation
- Carry out site inspections and audits, identifying opportunities for improvement and ensuring corrective actions are implemented
- Assist in accident, incident and near-miss investigations
- Provide SHEQ advice and guidance to project managers, supervisors and site teams
- Contribute to the development, review and enhancement of company policies, processes, procedures and documentation
- Support the enforcement of legislative, regulatory and client-specific requirements
- Promote a proactive safety culture and environmental awareness across all business activities
- Previous experience in a SHEQ Advisor, HSE Advisor or Health & Safety Advisor role
- Experience within renewables, utilities, construction, infrastructure, civil engineering or a related sector
- Strong knowledge of UK health, safety and environmental legislation
- Experience carrying out audits, inspections and risk assessments
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent qualification
- Expectation to stay away 1/2 nights a week
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to continuous improvement
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Competitive salary of £50,000 - £60,000 depending on experience
