Role Description This is a full‑time on‑site role for a Nuclear Engineer, based in the San Francisco Bay Area. The position is ideal for candidates with technical expertise who are passionate about advancing safe, scalable nuclear technology. This is a general application for our Nuclear Engineering team and may evolve into a more specialized position based on candidate strengths and company needs.
You will work closely with our cross‑functional team—including mechanical, electrical, and regulatory engineers—to support the design, analysis, and safety development of Hadron’s micro modular reactor. The role spans both core reactor physics and balance‑of‑plant engineering, with opportunities for hands‑on design and innovation in a fast‑paced startup environment.
Qualifications & Skillsets Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Nuclear Engineering or a related field
5+ years of experience in reactor core and neutronics design
Experience with Monte Carlo and deterministic simulation tools
Proficiency in MCNP, Serpent, CASMO, SCALE, or PARCS for reactor physics analysis
Strong understanding of thermal‑hydraulics and heat transfer
Knowledge of nuclear safety analysis and regulatory frameworks
Experience with instrumentation xrczosw and controls (I&C) and radiation monitoring systems
Familiarity with NRC licensing or DOE engagement is a plus
Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills
Passion for clean energy and a startup‑minded approach to problem‑solving
