Industrial Engineer
Hadron Energy specializes in Micro Modular Reactor (MMR) development, design, and research based in the San Francisco Bay Area. As the leading MMR developer, we are building factory‑produced, transportable microreactors that provide 24/7 carbon‑free power for data centers, government facilities, industrial sites, and remote communities. This is a full‑time on‑site role for an Industrial Engineer based in the San Francisco Bay Area. The position is ideal for candidates with strong process optimization, manufacturing systems, and operations design experience who are passionate about scaling advanced energy technology from prototype to production.
Responsibilities- Design and optimize manufacturing and assembly processes for Hadron’s modular reactor components and systems
- Develop production line layouts, tooling requirements, and resource plans to enable scalable factory operations
- Conduct time, motion, and cost studies to improve throughput, reduce waste, and enhance overall efficiency
- Collaborate with design and mechanical engineers to ensure products are optimized for manufacturability and assembly (DFMA)
- Create process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions for production teams
- Support facility planning and workflow design, including logistics, material handling, and supply‑chain interfaces
- Implement Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies to streamline operations
- Monitor and analyze production performance metrics; identify and resolve bottlenecks or process deviations
- Support capital equipment selection and justification for manufacturing expansion projects
- Partner with Quality and Procurement teams to ensure vendor processes and materials meet production standards
- Contribute to the establishment of a digital manufacturing ecosystem integrating ERP, MES, and automation tools
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
- 5+ years of experience in manufacturing process design, factory planning, or production engineering
- Proven track record implementing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Kaizen initiatives
- Experience with CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent) and process modeling software
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills for process optimization and cost analysis
- Knowledge of supply chain logistics, production scheduling, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite)
- Familiarity with ASME, ISO 9001, or other quality management systems
- Excellent communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, startup environment while managing multiple priorities
