We are seeking a Senior Project Manager for our Operations team in Oxford to manage contracted battery storage projects from execution through to initial trading revenue, maintaining full lifecycle ownership. As the central interface, you will coordinate clients, contractors, and internal teams to resolve divergent interests, tracking milestones and managing risks to ensure assets are fully registered, configured, and commissioned for immediate market participation. You will independently manage a sophisticated GB asset portfolio while driving continuous improvement of onboarding procedures, plans, and templates to enhance future integration efficiency. This role also includes Client Account Management to identify growth opportunities with current clients.

Your responsibilities will include:
Comprehensive End-to-End Management of Asset Onboarding and Offboarding Processes:
- Serve as the primary external representative and point of contact upon contract execution
- Ensure onboarding procedures adhere to the highest standards
- Coordinate internal and external stakeholders to achieve alignment with Habitat and industry timelines
- Ensure assets are integrated or decommissioned without attributable delays
- Lead effective risk and issue management, structured planning, and transparent communication across all departments
- Develop procedures and plans to support the onboarding and offboarding of all UK-contracted clients
- Deliver onboarding processes that meet best-in-class standards
- Update documentation to align with the latest requirements and industry best practices
- Collaborate with Software, Trading, and Operations teams to update procedures for new services or markets
- Drive continuous improvement of the "control system" to enhance asset monitoring capabilities
- Collaborate with the Software team to acquire insights from systems integrators
- Apply key findings to new sites and internal initiatives
- Support the Operations team in diagnosing and implementing control system refinements
- Respond to operational challenges or enable entry into new markets and services
- Track specified onboarding metrics and report on progress in each area
- Identify opportunities for improvement and develop change plans for senior management
- Provide reporting at all levels, including Board Level (reporting to the Director of Trading and Operations)
- Share insights on Asset Owner/EPC/BESS trends to inform the commercial team's future contract negotiations
Preferred skills and experience:
- 5+ years of proven experience in project or programme management
- Demonstrable experience of GB market registration — metering, BSC and Elexon processes, BM Unit registration, and pre-qualification for NESO ancillary services
- Background with construction contracts (familiarity with JCT, NEC, or FIDIC standard forms is advantageous)
- The authority and confidence to chair meetings with clients, contractors, network operators and industry bodies, take control of a plan and direct it back to Habitat's requirements
- Ability to articulate complex technical concepts—such as EPC schedules, Elexon metering, connection agreements, and Grid Code compliance—clearly and accessibly across diverse audiences
- Proactive risk management and structured planning, with a strong history of identifying delivery bottlenecks early and escalating them appropriately
- A genuine self-starter. This role runs its own portfolio with minimal supervision
- Project or Programme management of at least two GB grid-connected generation or storage assets taken from contract execution through to energisation and commercial operation
- Experience with transmission-connected assets and NESO Bilateral Connection or Construction Agreements
- Working knowledge of Capacity Market obligations and the EMR delivery framework
- Exposure to SCADA or EMS deployment on generation assets, and to the protocols above
- Familiarity with optimisation, tolling or route to market agreements from either side of the table
- Formal project management qualification (APM, PRINCE2, PMP)
